Acupuncture
Has anyone had acupuncture for severe back pain? I have had four lumbar spinal fusions, all failed, and now steroid injection has been suggested. I am very against this for many reasons but am a big fan of acupuncture for general health. Has anyone had needles down the spine and on the operation site

Acupuncture for back pain after spinal fusions
Has anyone tried this? Had the spinal needles yesterday and it was marvellous afterwards. Today feel really awful, in pain again and very depressed. The accupuncturist is no charlatan and top class in the profession. Obviously will be needing several sessions and I believe the results are cumulative

PMR newly diagnosed
Hi everyone, this is my first post. I was originally following the Psoriatic Arthritis posts but last week have now been given a PMR diagnosis. To give you a picture of my story, I was 53 years old when I came down with sudden pain and stiffness in my thighs, upper arms and neck in May 2017. Since then

Lumbar fusions
Hello all. Have had three lumbar fusions in five years. Now no more surgery as they did not last. The last obe in 2015 lasted 2 years. Now the pain is really bad. Morphine and Tramadol (allergic) bad reactions and don’t work. Been referred to a pain clinic. They could only suggest steroid injections

Time to give myself a shake!
Morning. I’m not new to weight loss or slimming clubs but I’m new to the site, so hi! I’m 53 and have stage 3 osteoarthritis in my knees and struggle to just walk let alone use the stairs. I had a left knee cartilage repair last year and a steroid injection and now the only option left is a knee replacement

RA update
Hi everyone I first posted about one month ago so this is my latest RA update. My main problem was my right hand (lost use of extensor muscles), but in December went through a flare up. Phoned RA nurse and she spoke to specialist, went back on to 25 mg prednisolone which was then tapered off over several

1 week after taking Methotrexate
For the last two months I was on Dexamethasone 4mg and was able to be normal. I could walk, run and even use my hands as before. It was a normal Christmas and New Year. However, my Rheumatologist took me of them. Slowly my RA returned and I am back to square one...with serve joint pains in the hands

Update: My Kefir Diary. Drastically reduced swelling in feet...and less foot pain.
Over the weekend I have noticed that my swollen feet are drastically going down! For the last 5 years my feet have not been their normal size by far. They are swollen, fat and chunky. Or at least they were 😋!!! My toes would normally be rather sausage like, and my feet would have no proper shape, especially

Letter from consultant
Received my letter from consultant yesterday regarding steroid injection. He said my bloods are still showing no inflammation. He's having another appointment sent 2 me. The nurse told me if the injection took the pain away I had inflammation somewhere, was she right?

Did anyone have a misdiagnosis before being diagnosed with Hashimoto disease?
Hi and help please, new to HealthUnlocked, A p Post menopausal lady here, suffering from misdiagnosis I think, would love to hear from anyone who might have similar experience. Endocrinologist and doctor put everything down to hormone imbalance and my Hypermobility syndrome. BUT I think I have a thyroid

Seen rheumatologist and still undiagnosed
So, I saw the rheumatologist today. To be honest he talked far more than he listened and he didn’t like being asked questions. He’s unwilling to make a diagnosis at this stage. I definitely have a positive ENA and ANA with anti-ro. He’s given me a steroid injection as this helps some people with fatigue
