Hi everyone. Back in August i had 15mg of Mtx Mixed with my sulazalazine but the mtx gave me the most violent of headaches, in October my rumey reduced the mtx to 10mg to try and elevate the headaches which worked. I continued taking 10mg and was free from headaches and pain. Until the week before

Knee Supporrt
Hi Guys. Happy New Year to you all. Just wondering if anyone can help me please (well my Mum). My Mum has had sero positive RA (which I have now been diagnosed with) for the last 28 years. Her left knee is badly affected with osteoarthritis to the point where the two bones are rubbing together.

Chesty cough/cold for 5 days. When to seek medical advice?
I have sle. ( On mycophenolate and hydroxychloroquine. Had steroid injection 2 weeks ago.) Started a cough and cold on boxing day. Cough really productive and feeling exhausted. No temperature though. I think its probably just a viral thing but, when to see a doctor?? If I didn't have lupus I would

Lump in leg ...?
Hi, I have Lupus SLE and also have steroid injections for Osteoarthritis in both knees. Just recently I've noticed a lump forming just below my right knee on the front of my leg. I wondered if it could be to do with the injections and if anyone else had had the same happened to them at all. I don't

I still don't feel well, but certainly better than I did. He told me to increase the seretide and ventolin and if things get any worse to ring the

My RA Journey
We returned from a weekend away in September - the following day had a phone call saying the Rheumatologist had a cancellation and would I like it. So off I go not really thinking about what was about to happen. Arrive with a couple of minutes to spare and whisked straight into the Rheumatologists

Tiredness and ra
Hi, I'm trying to educate myself on this disease by reading the posts as often as possible. But I'm not relating to a lot of it and I'm not sure if that's because I'm very early in the disease or because everyone is different. I'm not feeling the tiredness. What causes it? The ra itself, the act of

New to this pain....update.
So yesterday was my first appointment with a rhumatolagist It was very emotional with tears and anger and as you can guess they have no diagnosis yet. It's obviously not gout she said but here is 3 weeks worth of treatment to trial. She dosnt think it lupus either but not straight forward RA either

Hi, I was given a questionable diagnosis of 'inflammatory arthritis with enthesitis' in Feb and put on Sulphasalazine, then saw another Rheumy end of August and given a steroid injection as my DAS score was 3.28. After the injection, I felt brilliant, took a few days but my pain went down significantly

Rotator cuff injury
I had a rotator cuff injury to my right shoulder about 3 years ago, & I had a steroid injection at my local hospital which cleared it up. The problem seems to have recurred, with the usual pain & discomfort. I`m wondering if having an underactive thyroid would make someone more prone to this kind of

Biologics or not that is the question.
Hi all, after being diagnosed in June I felt my life had stood still. I was full of hope when over the next few months I was started on the triple therapy regime, I felt pretty awful most of the time but kept battling on. Last week my physio took one look at me and got me an emergency appointment with

The steroid kicked in
After your lovely responses to my first post, I called the Rheumatology dept at the hospital and spoke with the nurse who are assured me that can take up to a week for steroid injection to kick in and advised me not to take diclofenac unless I was in a lot of pain. As my pain was more twinges than agony

Just a quick Hello
Morning all I'm a bit nervous doing this as I'm a lad of 30 and just really coming to terms that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. If you just bear with me I shall explain my story. Back in October 2012 I was 28 and playing football on a Sunday as I always have done, when during the game I was unable to

Newly Diagnosed
Hi All I too am newly diagnosed with RA (October 2014) though my symptoms started in May 2014 and have had a steroid injection in my left hand due to flexor synovitis in the ring finger 6 weeks ago. I was pain free in my left hand 3 days after the steroid injection. However, now the RA has flared

Positive notes
Well, had my first steroid injection in my knee this morning, and wow it has only taken a couple of hours to begin to have some effect, or is that just that the stress of the event and the a.m. meeting with my employer have caused the clouds of fatigue to drift down more effectively and swiftly today

What effect do steroids have?
Hi, hoping for the benefit of your experience. I posted a little while ago to say that I have been diagnosed with possible early RA so the rheumy is attacking it early with MTX. I've done three weeks of it so far, first two weeks on 10mg and this last week on 12.5, with the intention of working up to
