Bursitis in pregnancy
Has anyone else had hip bursitis in pregnancy? I have been diagnosed by a physio as I was having intense pain at night in both hips. She said ideally I need to avoid sleeping on my sides - which is how we are told to sleep in pregnancy! She has taped my hips which seems to have helped and I have to ice

What next??? :(
I have been suffering with RA & Fibromyalgia since around yr 2000 and I went to the rheumo clinic on Thursday last & got told off as my ESR was up at 47 (as opposed to 13, on my last visit) & I have been feeling pretty rubbish for a while now. I was told that I should have called them straight away

Bursitis
Wondering if anyone else has bursitis in either or both hips, and what treatment you have had. I have it in both hips, and have just recently had a steroid injection in both. That seems to have done something to relieve the pain a little, but if they continue to stop working, I'm heading for a bursa

Confused about prednisolone dose
My mum who is 80 has recently had a diagnosis of PMR (she also has RA and osteoarthritis so its taken a while to reach this) . Up until now because the diagnosis wasn't PMR, her pain and symptoms had been managed with steroid injections, which wore off & needed repeating every 3 months. With the diagnosis

Ive started with a big flare in my collar bone, shoulders, my arms from the top to the wrists both sides. Enbrel reaction
Hi, this is my first post. I was diagnosed with RA two years ago and I've tried Sulphasalazine, Methotrexate and Laflunomide but had adverse reactions to all of them. I was put on Enbrel three weeks ago and because I'm quiet sensitive to medication i.e. various antibiotics, the nurse who came to show

I disappeared for a long time
I haven’t written in a long time. I still read most of the postings. Like most of you, i’ve been up and down. Mostly down. Besides the fibro I have bursites in both my shoulders. I swear to you i can’t lift my right arm. Even when i don’t move it, it feels like a spike straight through my shoulder

Update on Mum's Knee
Hi All An update on Mum's knee, we saw an Orthopaedic Registrar just after Christmas who said the only real option Mum would have had if she did not have the Multiple Myeloma was the knee replacement. The other option was a steroid injection into the joint but she would not be sure of being able to

RA treatment
Hi everyone, I have been feeling very well since my first steroid injection over a month ago. I have met with my rheumatologist and have decided not to start Methotrexate as I am planning to start trying for a family in 12 - 18 months and didn't want to risk the side effects. He has recommended I start

PBC, coeliacs & now RA!
Hi, just been told that I probably have rheumatoid arthritis! Massive unexplained flare up, swollen joints and excruciating pain. Saw my gp 4 weeks ago, he said it was just muscular and to stop googling my symptoms, said I was silly to think it was anything other than muscular...eat your words Mr useless
