How long do steroid injections last?
Had a steroid injection after about 48 hours it really kicked in. For the first time in 18 months my knees and elbows stopped hurting and my fingers were less sore. I felt really well and the nausea I get a lot also went. Family were saying I was back to normal personality wise. It lasted five days.

CSR steroid injection
I have chronic CSR and am due to have a steroid injection for a frozen shoulder. I don't know if all steroid treatments can potentially cause a problem. Can anyone advise please?

Hi, I have arthritis in my knee & I was at the Hospital to get a steroid injection. The Doctor did a scan she said an injection would be of no benefit. I got an injection @ 1 year ago but it was no good. She offered me the injection but I refused it. So its still the painkillers. Has anybody had

Another day - another diagnosis
September 2016 diagnosed with anti-ccp positive RA. Put on methotrexate, hydroxycholquinine, sulfazalazine, leflunomide and allergic to all of them. Didn’t qualify for biologics and suddenly hey presto nothing wrong could be seen. The pain remained and was excruciating but the new diagnosis - nothing

New Rheumatologist, but where to now??
I have been reading with great interest whisperits last post on his visit to the sleep consultant and also Twitchy's last CTD appointment. Both just show basically what a mess we are all in with regards to treatment and help as we fall helplessly between all specialities. It is the rare medic who sticks

rhizotomy
I have arthritis in the L5 S1 region of my facet joints & had steroid injections much earlier this year. Unfortunately, they did not help. The consultant suggested a Rhizotomy procedure but told me there was only a 50/50 chance of success. I had this done in August 2017 & tolerated this well but for

hip pain before bowel movement
I was reading someone's post about radiating pain down the front of her legs before a bowel movement. I had the same thing along with sciactia, which happened to be the femoral nerve. It causes so much pain. My dr gave me steroids which worked. She said if it continues after my prescription is used

GPs refusing steroid injections
Hi, my husband has had RA for around 10 years. After a few years of severe symptoms, it's now generally under control with Sulfasalazine, with occassional flare ups every year/two years. His rheumatologist is in London where we used to live, 2 hours away. The care is excellent and he's happy to travel

PIP consultation
Hi, I've got my consultation date for PIP, which is next Tuesday; unfortunately, I had a steroid injection four weeks ago and I haven't felt this good in years....should I postpone my consultation until the steroid has worn off, or should I keep the appointment but tell them about the steroid? If I go

Infection
Hi folks, went to specialist nurse yesterday to attend flair clinic, she was going to give me a steroid injection but couldn't as my WBCs were at 11.5,so I went to my doctors today and he gave me an antibiotic as I have a chest infection, I'm hoping once that clears I won't need the steroid jab, as

Lupus shoulder anyone?
So about 7 months ago I started to notice that the pain in my shoulder wasn’t getting better and I was starting g to struggle with some movements. I kept an eye on it and after about another month went to my gp as I thought it was an impingement. After he pulled me about the pain got significantly worse

Neck fusion now
Well going on from the steroid injections in my c6/c7 that didn't work I went back to spinal specialist and he said I need surgery to fuse the spine and get rid of spurs and arthritic bone growth and hopefully help with the bad pain I have in my arms and hands and maybe the numbness too. Not sure yet
