F2f this morning
After missing 5 days of barcitnib 5 weeks ago I’ve just not picked up and haven’t got back to where I was . I rang the helpline 2 weeks ago asking for a steroid but new nurse useless said no and wouldn’t listen to my explanation so ended up with a f2f . Upshot was I got a steroid injection. Apparently

Long term tocilizumab use

I feel i’ve caught MRSA at my Infusion Clinic. Anyone else had this?
I sometimes read the posts on here. But i’m not a ‘regular’. I’ve had RA since i was 21. (Turned 50 last month!) I have an Infliximab infusion every 6 weeks. I have iritis & glaucoma too. I’ve been getting serious ear infections since Nov 2019. Recurring all the bloody time. I’ve been feeling exhausted

Face to face appointment with rheumatology nurse today....I stamped my painful feet (metaphorically speaking)
Evening Peeps 🙂 Well, what day! Lots of 😭lots of speaking my mind and lots of demands - I'd had enough! I saw my rheumatology clinical nurse who I usually see nowadays - she's lovely. She asked me how I was....that was it - I just burst into floods of tears 😭😭I'm always wobbly when anyone asks

Herniated/ bulging L5/S1 disc and degenerative disc disease.
Hi. I have just turned 41 and was in so much pain in the last 2 months. I was diagnosed in April with bulging / herniated disc on L5/S1 and also degenarative disc disease. Sitting or standing and even walking makes my pain worse. Night time the pain is at it's worse. Pain is in my lower back, left buttock

Positive vibes with less pain
Taking a different road today and going down the positive vibe road. Waited a week to make sure I wasn’t premature in my happiness. Went last Wednesday for bilateral fluoroscopy guided steroid L5 epidural for my back pain. I was definitely nervous but the physician doing the procedure was so nice

Will never get the hang of RA
Missing a week of baricitnib by accident it’s been a slow slog trying to get back on my feet . 2 weeks plus of pain and mobility problems with lots of heat/ice packs along with Epsom salts baths there has been no improvement. Last night was my worst ever for pain. right foot painful and very very hot

Ankle arthritis pain before Total knee replacement
Hi, I am having a total knee replacement in a few weeks after an 18 month wait due to Covid. I’ve had 2 steroid injections in it, the most recent one being 5 weeks ago. This made my knee feel much better although bone-on-bone on one side so walking bow-legged, I could get around that much better. However

New to this
Hi there, I was advised to join this group because I have questions and concerns and looking for other people’s advice/options. I got diagnosed with skin lupus 3-4 years ago but last year after further tests they said it is SLE. I have been taking Hydroxychloroquine sulfate for joint pain for 6 months

Does circumcision scarline become more elastic over time?
I am almost 6 months post circumcision and my scarline is still bumpy and but hard. I’m thinking of having steroid injections to loosen it. Has anyone else done this before? Also does the scarline become more elastic over time? I feel like my penis isn’t as long as before by 1 inch. Thank you

Is it possible to get steroid injections for finger joints?
Hi, my disease mostly affects my fingers and my toes. I'm not a fan of taking medication because of all the side effects it causes me. Would it be possible to get steroid injections in the fingers because of how small the joints are? Has anyone had them done before?

Steroid Jabs?
I have tried a number of meds for my RA and none of them have made any positive difference. If anything, I felt worse. I am now having a break from MTX too and have stopped Amgevita on Consultant's advice, due to changes in blood cells. In about a month I am going to be put on Tocilizumab and can stop

Has anyone with RA used Blessed CBD Medical cannabis
Hello, after 2 years of treatment I stopped my Biologic Benepali last April 2021 (after 2 yrs it caused a severe, itchy, neck, chest and face rash that wouldn't go away with Betnovate and Piriton). Later in April, I had a steroid injection and my 2nd Astra Z (no after effects) On 16th June I paid £500

Hip op just got worse
I seen the surgeon yesterday on NHS and plan was to then transfer to private with them as I had been told they would do the op in 3 weeks from consultation once I had the name of the surgeon. But, he showed me my xrays! The consultant had said it was bad and bone on bone so would mark as priority but

How to get partner to understand?
My current pain issues have been increasing for the last 3 years or so. My partner has been accusing me of abusing prescription painkillers (I don't) and also that I was wasting my time going to remedial massage when what I needed was a steroid injection. I finally got this last week. I think it has

Steroid injection in my knee has made it worse.
Morning everyone. I had another steroid injection in my knee nearly 3 weeks ago and it has actually made it worse. The one started with a bakers cyst 18 months ago and has been swollen ever since but not just out the back of the knee. It now has more swollen lumps on it and much more painful to walk

Should I ask to see rheumatologist?
Hi - rarely post here but do follow. I was diagnosed with seronegative RA 19 years ago. Initially treated with sulphasalazine, to which I reacted v badly but took for long enough to bring my inflammatory markers down before I stopped as I wanted to get pregnant again (RA started during my first pregnancy

Ultrasound
Good day 🙏 I had an ultrasound sound guided steroid injection appoint. for a lump on the side of my wrist yesterday. The technician didn’t go ahead with the injection. He said that it was a “solid lump”. I’m really worried as to why he chose not too. He wasn’t very helpful when I asked. I’ve seen so
