KICKED by a HORSE then run over by a BUS !!
Well it feels like it any way. The big boy steroid injection was last Thursday on a visit to my rhuemy nurse. She entered all my results etc onto the data base then informed me I had failed on Humira - no one told me it was an exam! Is it my fault? No I think Humira has failed me! I am now being set

I've been getting them pretty much the whole way through, I've told my midwife and she said its normal, problem is the past week they've been getting quite

Weird weight loss???
Hi everyone, well as most may remember I saw my rheumy last Thursday who prescribed me mtx for the first time to start in a few weeks after my holiday and gave me a steroid injection to keep me going. Well of all the side effects I was expecting from the steroids, weight loss definitely wasn't one of

As my fellow sufferers know, I had my first cycle of rituximab I April this year after failing on humira and enbrel. I went for my 12 week assessment however was still in a lot of pain so was given yet another steroid injection to see me through. Anyway I've suffered with a stiff neck for a few years

Hi everyone, well off to the rheumy tomorrow and have a plan in my mind for the way forward ... I think!! What are the side effects of Golimumab when using with or after treatment of Methotrexate (injected) and Hydroxycholoroquine?
I have been having persistent flare-ups after 2 years of weekly self-injected 25mg of Methotrexate and daily Hydroxycholoroquine tablets. I used to take steroid tablets to assist me during these flare ups (usually left knee and wrists) but they have now lost their impact and in-joint steroidal injections

Everything Has Changed!!!!
Hi, I hope you are all well. Just an update really, I posted a while back as my gp had referred me to a rheumy Dr as he suspected Fibromyalgia. I hadn't heard particularly nice experiences from others about rheumatologists and was very nervous about my appointment. (its bad enough when your second guessing

Oh yeah and I'm chubby now
I used to be a size 8 and now I am a size 16I don't even know this happened. Yes I do steroids! I had been trying to avoid taking steroids but after a frightening incident where my arm and my right arm locked and was unable to get out of the bath I decided to give it a try. I have to say the first

Feel let down by the NHS
Hi everyone sorry to come on here and moan as I know you all have your own problems and many will be worse than mine!!! Basically my story is this; 6 months after my daughter was born (3yrs ago) my shoulder joint went completely, the pain was unbearable and I literally couldn't move my arm to even tie

Taken Off the MTX again
Hi everyone Went to Rheumy appointment yesterday and explained that the dreaded cough has been back for 3 weeks and I am in a bad flare. She went through all my notes from the last appointment and letter from the chest doctor and said that she cannot understand why the MTX is causing problems

Anyone managing mortons neuromas?
Have them in both forefeet + inflammed bursae at same sites. Ouch, big time! And ironic cause have spent adult life taking ultra good care of my flippers! Whatever, my MN/Bs have been recently fully diagnosed by a top nhs orthopedic surgeon via MRI. although actually, I am 7 years into managing

Scared my lupus isn't manageable and about adding mycophenolate
I have SLE and Sjogren's Syndrome. Diagnosed with lupus when I was 12, fine most of my adult life and struggling more in the past 6 years since I stopped breastfeeding my daughter. I have been fortunate for much of my illness compared to many and have even managed for the past 6 years on 5mg prednisolone

Steroids, how long do they work.?
I'm having great relief from an IM steroid injection the rheumy nurse gave me 9 days ago, it's like a wee holiday from the usual pain and struggle. Not quite bounding along like a gazelle, but it feels like it to me in comparison to my 'normal'. Anyone have any idea how long this can last, or is it

My adventures with the beasts
My adventure with "The Beasts of PMR GCA and PREDISALONE" so far. For the last few years I have had problems with pain in my lower back and hips. This was a long story I was seen by a back specialist put on Amatrytaline and an MRI scan ordered. I was told to watch out for signs of urinary difficulties

Does Sulphasalazine cause foot cramps..?
I started Sulphasalazine on Thursday, after seeing the Rheumy nurse and having a blessed steroid injection (never thought I'd say that before as Ive always been dead anti drugs) which has helped me move around a lot better. I'm on 500mg Sulph. once a day on the evening. Yesterday was my 3rd dose and
