Itch / bile acids / diet
For the last few weeks I have been suffering a prickly itch over all of my body. I have huge sympathy with those who have lived with this for years :-(. I have written down the names of 6 different medications mentioned in the forums, such as Cholestyramine (Questran) - it's my understanding they

Knowing when to stop
I'm pondering how to know when it's time to switch from losing to maintaining. I'm not looking for advice here, but I have been musing on it for a while, then me and Hidden started discussing it deep in the Daily Diary. I thought others might want to join in. The question is, how do you know when

Started Fast 800 today
Starting Fast 800 today. Hoping to do 8 weeks to tackle visceral fat and get a break for this body! New to fasting recently, since fasting a fair amount a few years ago (7 day complete fast, 3 week Daniel Fast, and IF). I am interested if there is an upper limit of calories? Its LCHF Mediterranean diet

Chicken and bacon Caesar salad
This is today's something new (I am trying to eat something new every two days) As I am low carb, I just did without the croutons (must think of a way to add crunch), so added the garlic to the mayonnaise to get garlic flavour. Very simple: cos lettuce, garlic mayonnaise, parmesan shavings, anchovies

Back again after an absence
Totally screwed up good work from last year using IF and LCHF. The gremlin of emotional eating won. I’m working on it and know LCHF is the best way forward for me but not so sure about IF... but missing breakfast has now become a way of life. I’ve written a bit more about it here: https://healthunlocked.com

Aerobika
Morning all, I started using the aerobika twice a day in the last few months and thought I would let you know my experience. I use it for twenty minutes and it seems to compare to postural drainage for clearing mucus. However, I noticed about four weeks ago that I can drink far more water. This is unscientific

want to try LCHF but don't know where to start
Hi my name is Pixielou and I am 61 years old. I have read so much about LCHF way of eating and would like to try it. I am so overweight and have osteoarthritis. I understand the principles of this way of eating, but just don't know how to plan meals. I have to eat on the go at lunchtimes, usually outside

Will increasing low dose naltrexone decrease the benefits?
(Hashimoto’s) Low dose naltrexone works great but I’ve been wanting to increase the dose from 4.5 to 5 and see how high I can go and still be able to sleep. But will taking to much negatively effect what it does? I’m always seeing 4.5 being the recommendation but that’s just the average in clinical

Please Tell Me That This Will Work....
I turned 40 in January and decided that this would be the year I sorted my life out (obviously the universe had other ideas given the current situation lol). I am only 5'3" and tipped the scales at 15 stone 9. I have never been this heavy, not even during pregnancy. I have four children and successfully

Use of low dose naltrexone
This paper says that there is no scientific evidence to support this treatment for Hashimoto's disease.

Clenil or Qvar
I have taken Clenil for years and years - basically since it was decided it was better for the environment and I’ve been trundling along very nicely with no problems at all. I was recently given Qvar - it was back at the start of lockdown, there seemed to be some sort of a delay then I was told the pharmacist

Hi, started LCHF 9days ago. Have been doing IF on and off for a few months as this tends to be my normal eating pattern, so I have been extending the fasts. Normally 16/8 or 18/6, completed a 20/4 fast 4 days ago. Had been reading through some older posts on this forum where people had been doing longer

I've seen an awful lot of advice on here about lchf diets. I'm 54 and have a lot of weight to shed. For those of you who are similar to me and do not follow this type of diet how are you finding the calorie counting and exercise route? Are you successfully losing weight?

I give up
I’m 70kg 172cm tall and trying to get down to my best weight of 62kg. I’m on about 800 calories a day perhaps less some days. Brown wholemeal low carb is my boring diet. I power walk for a mile ever morning. I do PE with Joe at 9am plus some weights and sit ups. I have a half hour walk at lunch time
