Feeling hopeless
Hello everyone, first post. I've had asthma since a child and I'm 43 now but only used a blue inhalor up till earlier this year. Now it's out of control if it is even asthma I'm not so sure anymore since the none of the meds seem to work and in fact some seem to make it worse and my peak flow goes down

Removing calcium.
Any thoughts out there on taking vit K and vit D to reduce calcium in the arteries? The idea is to take the D at breakfast, and the K at dinner time and ,over 3 months, the artery calcium should have actually reduced by some 30 to 50 %. If true, then it should be widely promulgated. Looking forward

hi everyone and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. I’m a 50yr 1/2 a pack a day smoker (smoked more when I was in my 20’s) and now former smoker for a week still finding it difficult to not smoke but trying. I’ve been diagnosed with Gerd, Barrett’s Esophagus and a 5cm. Hiatal Hernia. About 6 months ago

I developed a cough and then a cold this last week. The cold started to bother my asthma. On monday night (i was away visiting my mum). Post Covid Queries!
Hi! I tested positive for Covid 2 weeks ago… it’s caused an asthma flare but luckily I got prescribed steroids for a week which, along with my Fostair and Ventolin inhalers, kept things stable enough for me to stay home. My GP signed me off for a further week after my 1st week of self certifying, however

Growing Challenge - Pea Shoots
Who wants to join me to see how each of us get on?
This autumn is going to be a first for me. Not sure how it will turn out but I will be growing Pea Shoots and picking them fresh for my salad. No more bagged pea shoots from the supermarket and in the long term will be cheaper and much fresher

Food and Flare-Ups, Clinical Significance of ANA
Hi everyone, I am curious about certain foods and their connection to flare-ups. I have found that gluten, soy, dairy, and refined sugars cause a lot of problems for me. Is it common for certain foods to make symptoms worse? What foods do you find help with symptoms? My second question is about ANA

This last year has been a hard one with Covid and shingles and tooth extractions making it harder to

Due to Finish Steroids but Still Covid Positive
Hi! Last Wednesday I became very unwell, eventually Thursday morning the dreaded 2 lines appeared on my LFTs! After the initial 25/48 hours the actual illness seems to have improved, my temperature has come down and stayed down no issue, and I just feel completely weak and wiped out! I spoke to GP

Bronch advice please!
Evening friends, Well Ive had an amazing run with no need for ABs for the last four years. But I guess it couldnt last for ever. After some nasty laryngospasm and inflammation which wouldn't resolve, I started a course of pred on Saturday and seemed to be responding, but it's gone south today and

Asthma and colds
When I get a cold my peak flow can fall to levels which normally my asthma plan would say to start ringing the gp about. 50 to 60 percent of my max for several days. Issues with walking etc. However I tend to feel, that I am chilled on the subject. My peak flow is low but stable. I can function, just

Chest infection confusion
Hey everyone. So this has happened twice now with similar sets of symptoms. Recent symptoms: Basically severely reduced peak flow (150 during the attacks, max is 470, about 250/280 now, so I'm well into amber still), been in and out of hospital the last few days with asthma attacks, increased work

A catch up and regroup.
Hello lovely people, I was just recounting and filling in the time I've been away from this site - the absence due to my grandmothers passing - and it was becoming a bit of a novel, recounting the day to day details of the hospital etc so have decided to not post it as it may be triggering for others

Prednisolone advice
Hallo I've got moderate asthma and have got quite a nasty chest infection. Today a GP prescribed some antibiotics and Prednisolone. I am struggling with my peak flow at the moment. Usually can manage 350 but at the moment struggling between 250 and 300( female). Accept I probably do need steroids but
