I want to be able to complete a 10k for Race for Life in October and not finish last. Its no fun when you finish and there is no one there apart from a man with a bag of medals! I know that finishing was an achievement in itself. I just just like to be a bit quicker. I have a long way to go and although i can now run 4,7 k i am awfully slow and shattered. So i have work to do but i will keep going.

Congratulations reaching this far in your running journey. Ju Ju's 10k plan is fantastic, you can choose to go by time or distance. If you're exhausted at the moment the best plan may be to start with time to 60mins then move move on up to the 10k distance. healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...
Good luck, you'll get loads of support and encouragement. Happy running 🤗
Hi, I’d agree with Grannyhugs about JuJu’s plan. It really does work but make sure you don’t overdo things. I’d spend a few weeks getting comfortable running at the pace you’re running now and take it from there.👍
I was one of the last to finish my first half marathon and there were only a few people left there. Luckily I still got my medal. The only t-shirts they had left were XXL rather than the M that I wanted, but I took it anyway!😊
Some of the runners who had lapped me, and whom I had cheered on as they passed me, we’re still there though and clapped me over the finish line!🏁 What a great gesture that was. It made me feel like a winner anyway!🙂👍
Good luck!👏👏👏
Thanks that is good advice. I ran 3,94 miles today which is 6.3 k mainly because i was reading kilos for miles. I finished it but am shattered again so i am going to take your advice and run to 60 mins. I am determined to do this but would rather do it sensibly. My problem is i have a son and daughter who run 10k regularly and a grandaughter of 7years old who runs 5k every week. I feel under pressure as they ask me how i am doing and I feel that i should do better. I like your advice and will listwen to it
. Thank you
Hi, I know it’s difficult but try not to compare yourself to others, just compare yourself to the ‘old’ you.🙂 Everyone is different and we all find a ‘happy’ pace that we can run at. It doesn’t matter what other people are doing, it’s about you. A finish is still a finish, no matter how long it takes, and is something to be immensely proud of!👍
