Buddha bowl fruit salad
So it's not particularly low-carb, but I just fancied some refreshing fruit this evening. It consists of apple, small apricot, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries plus a dollop of peanut butter scattered with toasted seeds. I eat it with that tiny dessert fork (pretentious? moi?) as it seems to make

LCHF mythbusting : part II
Another in my ongoing series of rants!
LCHF only works because it reduces your calories.
This one drives me crazy. It's usually preceded by a grudging acknowledgement that "LCHF works, but ..." and concluded with "... so any calorie-controlled diet would work as well". To which the obvious response

Hospital trips and covid
Hi Has anyone been to hospital with their normal astma symptoms? I ask as I have been three times. Each time I've been treated with the assumption I have covid. They wait for test to come back before moving me to a cold ward. Its made me very nervous about asking for help and only go when my wife

Insulin and Prostate.
This is a VERY interesting video to gentlemen of a certain age concerning enlarging of the prostate. Previous to watching this my take was a shrug of the shoulders in that it's 'something that comes to men with age. I'd gone as far as I could in researching the condition and came up against 'testosterone

Question about asthma and mucus
Hi all hope your staying safe So I'm still struggling with stopping smoking and have had a phlegmy cough for ages now, and I'll cough up thick mucus. Does mucus form in airways?? As I have never been sure about this, I also need to loose weight as I'm around 35 pounds overweight but it's not easy to

My Swedish supper
This is probably the tastiest beige plate I have eaten since I went low carb. Swedish meatballs in a rich sauce; sautéed cabbage and leeks;celeriac home fries; redcurrant & blackcurrant sauce. 😋 (plating my food for photography increases my pleasure, so I have to share the photos with someone. sorry

Fasting and visceral fat (or at least waist size)
I started fasting via Michael Mosley's Fast800. So low calorie (I was between 800-1000 kcal/day), low carb, IF. In the first month I lost 7.4kg, and 10cm off my waist. https://healthunlocked.com/fasting-and-furious/posts/142414943/1st-month-fasting-lchf Then I joined HU, took advice from various people

LCHF Mythbusting
As some of you might know, I'm the HU "Ambassador" for the LCHF group. It's a bit of a thankless task because the internet is still awash with misinformation about LCHF. Prompted partly by a few recent conversations, I figured it'd be worth doing an occasional series of MythBuster posts. I'll do two

LCHF v Keo
Yes-@MBAnderson, that’s great on both of you. Dr Terry Wahl’s had remarkable /miraculous improvement on essentially the same w/more extreme measures> keto . I think dairy and gluten free is attainable and if so, will be the best for me (& maybe most of us w Neuro disease). Although Mischley does not
