Blood results help please, increased asesd aches and pains.
Please would someone have a look at my blood results? I’ve had increasing aches and pains in joints recently. I had been taking vitamin D but stopped at GP’s request. Not sure if this is a contributing factor. I also take magnesium and vitamin K. Wondering if I have another underlying condition. Thank

Minimal Change Disease and Diet
I was diagnosed with MCD about 15 years ago. I relapsed several times, and my creatinine levels kept rising. At my worst I had a GFR of 14. I was already on a low sodium diet. It was suggested to me that I try removing as much animal protein out of my diet as possible. When I made this change, I

Breathing worse after quitting smoking update.
Morning All. I had great support after stopping smoking 4 months ago from this forum so I thought that I would stop by and give an update which may help others. After stopping smoking my breathing actually started to get worse. It was like I couldn’t take a full breath in and my chest felt tight. My

(LDN) Low Dose Naltrexone - Experience?
Hello, Does anyone here take LDN for inflammation? I have just been prescribed it by a private doctor and before I go and add yet another medication to the list of daily pills I pop, I thought I would ask all you wonderful people about your own experiences. Has anyone found that it has helped them?

Hello from me
Evening. Have done my 1st C25K section today. Absolutely loved it. This is the start of a new journey for me after losing 4 and a half stone eating low carb high fat over the past 18 months. Not sure I've ever felt better. Little way to go weight wise / size wise so hoping this will help along the way

Perspective
Now, this forum is about LCHF, Low Carb High Fat. So, anyone coming here espousing the concept has to encompass dumping ALL carbohydrate (outside of course kale and berries). This is critical for any T2 diabetics, no question. And if significant obesity is the problem, then LCHF is the solution. But,

High carb diet
Hi After my 2 day assessment this week the dietician there told me that o have to up the carbs I eat, especially eating 50g an hour before I go to bed! I’m struggling with this as I have always dieted using a low carb diet and it is very alien to me. Did anyone else get told to eat more carbs?? Sam

IBS and fatty foods
Hi All, I have suffered with IBS for over twenty years. Just over 12 months ago I had my gallbladder removed. Prior to that I had the worst 12 months ever with chronic upper gastric pain etc to do with the gallstones. I went on a low fat diet and it helped a lot. Since then I have been eating reasonably

Cold and flu season
Hi everyone. As cold and flu season approaches here in UK I would appreciate any advice as to what to do if you get a cold etc? I'm new to asthma so I'm not sure - should I visit the doctor at the first sign of a cold or just increase my preventative inhaler? I use my preventative inhaler as my relief

Researchers say No to Low Carb/Keto Diet!
An interesting read for most of us who practice Low Carb Diet.... The results from a pooled research on low carbohydrate diets were presented at the European Society of Cardiology's 2018 Congress in August by researchers based in the UK, Poland, Sweden, and Greece.... What if my nearest and dearest don't like the idea of me fasting?
The "Welcome Newbies..." pack might assure them that (Intermittent) Fasting ¿and Low Carb? are good for you. https://healthunlocked.com/fasting-and-furious/posts/141714611/welcome-newbies-intermittent-fasting-faq Before we got "civilised", when we were hunter-gatherers, we often did not eat for days

Getting too skinny- follow up
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and replies. I’m looking for a new GP and will follow up when I find one. I have an appointment with my rheumy in a week and will discuss the weight loss with her. I will get my thyroid checked. There’s also the option of a consultation with a dietician

Reducing saturated fat intake may delay progression in men with MYC amplification
This was only a mouse study, but they also looked at animal fat/saturated fat intake of metastatic men treated at some top institutions. They found an association between dietary saturated fat intake and PC lethality in men with metastatic disease who had a specific kind of tumor mutation called MYC

Fatty liver/IBS diet
I am so frustrated. I am trying to find the right diet to lose weight manage my fatty liver and IBS. I was on an extreme low carb diet and had my liver enzymes normal after my diagnosis. Then about 10 months later I developed IBS. I am having a terrible time trying to manage both. Any suggestions
