Went to appointment with Radiation Oncologist at Emory St. Joseph's Winship Cancer Center - Dr. Bruce Hershatter. Good guy, no BS, straight shooter. He actually drew it out on a sheet of paper (front & back, back was worse) for me and talked me and my friend through the options (1) and pretty much

Updates to de novo metastatic prostate cancer treatment
Q. Is the current standard of care has changed in just one year? Docetaxel may now be considered in low volume and de novo disease together with an AR pathway inhibitor and radiation therapy indications should be extended not only to low volume but also to high-volume de novo disease? A. Yes, there

radiation treatments led to perforated colon?
St. Patrick’s Day I collapsed in pain and was rushed to ER. A CT ABD PE revealed a perforated colon near my rectum, broad internal infection (sepsis) with kidneys and liver shutting down. A life flight, three surgeries later, 3 weeks sedated and immobile in an ICU, and seven weeks in hospital rehabs

After Lupron I have been having seizures
Hi, In December 2023 I decided to finally undergo treatment for my prostate cancer, Gleason scale 6, with a high PSA of 63 (or 48 on another test) I had had this cancer for eight years WITHOUT it spreading. But doctors kept warning (I would almost say harassing) me, so... I underwent one shot of lupron

Myelofibrosis- GVHD graft, versus, host, disease.
Hi, thanks for accepting me onto your site. My name is Gary, I am 64 years old and was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis in July, 2024. It all started when I began to feel lethargic and very tired, I had no inspiration to do anything. I was a taxi driver and was only managing to work one or two days a week

After Orgovyx
Age 76, diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in December 2021. PSA was 8.6, but had zero symptoms. Started Orgovyx in February 2022 and received 25 treatments of external radiation therapy starting in March 2022. Treated in April 2022 with brachytherapy. Current PSA is negligible, but urologist

Greetings All - New to this forum but have followed the Healing Well PC forum since beginning treatment in 2018 and later began to follow Prostate Cancer News, Reviews and Views which referenced this forum. The details are provided below but my question is: At what ultra-sensitive (LabCorp) PSA level

Hip pain - related to radiotherapy?
I'm wondering if it might be somehow related to the
radiotherapy
(apart from the lateral mis-alignment) and wonder if anyone else has had similar experience(s)?

A refreshed journey
I am not sure if I should treat these posts like a journal blog where I just write my thoughts and feelings, or like a forum post where I'd get a response to- but I will just write. Be prepared for a lengthy post. I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer back in 2012. I was just under 150 lbs and looked

Cyberknife+IMRT combination treatment for High Risk PCa, that has spread to the seminal vesicle.
Has anyone done a cyberknife-imrt combination radiation treatment for prostate cancer? My PCa has spread to the Seminal Vesicle. So, instead of a planned 5 session cyberknife treatment to the prostate only ( when the PCa was thought to be confined to the prostate), my doc is putting me on 3 cyberknife

My Experience with Chemo/Radiotherapy
I never had
radiotherapy
the first time round, just 5/28 cycles of temozolomide for the best part of eight years, and that was full-dose TMZ, not the partial doses.
