Age 76, diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in December 2021. PSA was 8.6, but had zero symptoms. Started Orgovyx in February 2022 and received 25 treatments of external radiation therapy starting in March 2022.
Treated in April 2022 with brachytherapy.
Current PSA is negligible, but urologist wants to continue Orgovyx until September 2024 due to the risk for spread.
Symptoms include fatigue, join and muscle pain and hot flashes.
Overall I am feeling good. Nutrition and heavy exercise are daily considerations and the harder I work, the less the side effects affect my daily life.
My current question is what to expect when I discontinue the hormone treatments?

I was on 6 months of Orgovyx. I had hot flashes and muscle/body aches at night. I have been off it for 3 weeks. The muscle/body aches stopped within a week, and the hot flashes are getting (perhaps??) a little better. Never had fatigue.
Hopefully you’ll be done with it, and your commitment to exercising means you will feel much better quickly and the side effects will disappear. The best part is you won’t have a large hole to climb out of, so to speak. Well done.
Well, following sbrt treatments at Duke I received Orgovyx for 2 yrs.. Same side affects as u. Within a few wks. of stopping the adt I began feeling stronger & libido began to return. I’m 68 so there’s an age difference so there’s no way for me to predict your response but I do believe you’ll feel much better. 🌝
Scooter-it sounds like you have experience similar to mine and am glad to hear there is life after all the treatments. I plan to continue my workout activities, diet etc. and will share the experience after the hormone treatments end.
Hi — I’ll chime in with my experience after being off of Orgovyx for 1 month now.
I agree with the other 6 responses you already have received. Fatigue was never an issue for me, nor was there joint/muscle pain. However, the hot flashes continue for me — less so during the day. I’m having one or two each night. I’ll see my radiation team and get another PSA in July. I’ll ask about the hot flashes and report any new insights.
Glad to hear you are exercising a lot. I’m doing the same and I think that really helps with any side effects. Stay strong. Stay positive.
Just to say I had radiation and then hormone treatment.
Once I stopped the hormones I felt so much better, no more flushes, headaches and increased libido. However, I did have exhausting fatigue for quite some time, hard to tease out whether its thedtug withdrawal or that I'm a fit 75.
Swimming regularly helps me and my Psa is negligible now.
