Why are late effects services so thin on the ground and little known?
As we all have had pelvic
radiotherapy
, late effects of treatment are a frequent issue for discussion. A week or so ago a member was talking about the terrible late effects she has suffered from for about a year. I found the very helpful resource on this site listing clinics and services.

Headache and nausea
I had a lumpectomy in January and
radiotherapy
in May. I was originally told the biopsy was negative but when they did the lumpectomy it had started to change, hence the
radiotherapy
.

Just been told I have two years to live.
Male, age 73, Eligard injections, Abiraterone and Predisnone for four and a half years, some
radiotherapy
. PSA levels initially 69, brought down to 7 by Abiraterone. Suddenly stopped working. Went on Radium 233 trial. Never again, and it didn't work.

Ablation dilemma
He is then due to start 4 weeks of
radiotherapy
the week after we come back. The bathroom is also being ripped out that week so we cannot stay there, not sure where at the moment as we won't have facilities. I feel I am in the worst place possible and not the right time for me to have this done.

Update re: My cancer and subsequent tinnitus.
I was also assured the
radiotherapy
won’t affect my tinnitus, since it isn’t being administered to my head anyway.

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this but so glad I found it. Thought I'd introduce myself....no point in holding back!
This lead to a debate as to whether I should have Chemo &
Radiotherapy
or just
Radiotherapy
. My notes were sent to the Royal Marsden & the decision was made for me to have 5 wks of
Radiotherapy
. As I'm sure a lot of you know, there began years of follow ups etc.

Pet scan vs CT scan
I guess if they find cancer that's not on my bones then
radiotherapy
maybe out of the question. Any thoughts / suggestions greatly appreciate. Cheers

Radiation induced lumbar plexopathy
After 37 lots of
radiotherapy
for stage 4 prostate cancer Jan through March this year, I thought everything was going brilliantly until 3 months ago. After being bounced around specialists, I have now been diagnosed with radiation induced lumbar plexopathy.

Hi At age 32 I had a triple negative tumour removed (lumpectomy) followed by chemo and
radiotherapy
. Fast forward 31 years I have just had a mastectomy after I had an oestrogen positive tumour. No chemo needed-phew!

Post cancer
It's a little over 12 months since I completed 20 fractions of radical
radiotherapy
and I'm now being regularly monitored. My last scan shows progressive mucous plugging. Has anyone else had this and what it means.
