Boosting immunity before chemotherapy / radiotherapy begins: any advice? Does anyone ask for Vitamin B12 to boost immunity?
Alan should start his 12 weeks of chemotherapy /
radiotherapy
in about 2 weeks time providing his kidney function test is ok. Somebody suggested asking for Vitamin B12 to be given before treatment, to boost immunity. Has anyone done this?

ProtecT Randomized Clinical Trial: Patient outcomes by treatment received - active monitoring, prostatectomy, or radiation
This is a planned re-analysis of the only clinical trial ever to randomize men with localized prostate cancer to active monitoring, prostatectomy or radiation therapy. They analyzed by the actual treatment received rather than the intended treatment. https://pcnrv.blogspot.com/2020/02/protect-randomized-clinical-trial.html

Dangers of turmeric
It should be avoided during chemotherapy and
radiotherapy
. Circumin has some estrogenic properties and should be avoided by breast cancer patients, it also has shown to decrease platelet function and so should be avoided by those on blood thinning therapies.

I've been reading on here that some of you cant get the surgery, I was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer in 2008, after surgery to remove said breast I then had chemotherapy,
radiotherapy
, 5 yrs of anti cancer drugs & surgery inbetween all that, I'm lucky I'm still here, but its left me with arthritis

Chemotherapy After Prostatectomy for High-Risk Prostate Carcinoma
We might have offered some of these patients adjuvant
radiotherapy
, or even encouraged some of them to get it. Brian Lewis: It seems a little bit strange, but I was thinking that same thing.

Back in the game
I went through a range of emotions - shock , denial and mostly anger that this could happen to me at a time when I was feeling so fit and well and had such big plans - but as the advert says ' cancer doesn't care about you' I had an operation followed by a course of
radiotherapy
and chemotherapy to shrink

It’s okay if this post goes without a reply... felling ever so blue for what was but is no more... and just need a place to put it to ‘bed’
Forgive me for being sad when my intellectual side says I should be joyful. Joyful that my husband is fighting hard to push PCA out. Unlike some, I am blessed to have my husband of 26 years beside me but my life is irreparably changed It has been a little over 14 months sine my husband and best friend

New gel-based nanosensor can monitor cancer radiation therapy doses.
More than half of all cancer patients undergo radiation therapy and the dose is critical. Too much and the surrounding tissue gets damaged, too little and the cancer cells survive. Subhadeep Dutta and Karthik Pushpavanam, graduate students working in the lab of Kaushal Rege, Professor at Arizona State

Does this study which predicts BCR for all post RP guys with a uPSA of 0.03 or higher apply to intermediate and low-risk RP guys also?
This factor enables critical decisions on the timing of and indication for postoperative
radiotherapy
in patients at high risk after radical prostatectomy."

Does radiation/brachytherapy prevent my use of insulin pump, which radiation can damage?
Do I need to be concerned with radiation impacts on my insulin pump after prostate-area radiation treatment? I’m diabetic and use a Medtronic 670 hybrid insulin pump with a separate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor/transmitter. To prevent radiation damage to pump and CGM transmitter, I remove

Flash Radiotherapy could Deliver all the Radiation Needed in One Rapid Treatment
We are a couple of years away from, but keeping an open eye upon it won't do any harm. "Purpose Recent studies suggest that ultrahigh-dose-rate, “FLASH,” electron radiation therapy (RT) decreases normal tissue damage while maintaining tumor response compared with conventional dose rate RT. Here, we

Exercising with bone mets from prostate cancer
I have been an athlete all my life and still love working out hard at age 74. I am on hormone therapy and have had several series of radiation therapy. My radiation oncologist has ademately ordered me to stop lifting all weights. This I cannot do. X rays show abundant bone lesions throughout my body
