Developing hayfever?
Normally my asthma triggers aren't 'allergic' - more things like temperature, humidity, chemicals etc. And I had a negative skin prick test for common allergens last year (though a really high total IgE) - never had any symptoms of hayfever usually except a tendency to sneeze more than the average person

Dymista (new treatment for hay fever)
http://www.mims.co.uk/news/1178978/Dymista-new-combination-intranasal-rhinitis-treatment/ Thought I'd post this as a separate blog for anyone struggling with hay fever (excessive pollen levels are expected this year) Only just approved by NICE, available on prescription, it's a combo of antihistamine

I am allergic to Folic Acid, does anyone know of anything else I can take?
I want to start trying for a baby soon but I am allergic to Folic Acid. I took 5mg Folic acid and had a severvely bad Histamine reaction ( itchy pin pricks sensation on my skin) and went down to 400 micrograms and these are still making me itch. When I am pregnant I cant take my antihistamines either

Currently active pollens/allergens
Hi, I wondered if anyone knows which allergens/pollens etc are in force at the minute, or if there's a suitable website to look at? I've started with sneezing and a tickle at the back of my throat/roof of mouth and wondered if it was something in the air. I also feel as though I have a chest infection

Beating Sleep Problems
Hi all, I'm a three and a half year breast cancer survivor and long-time health writer. I started this blog after I got the little 'c.". I'll post my articles here from time to time. Here's one I hope will help - I know many of us struggle with sleep problems. We need sleep to regenerate—it’s

Anyone still working full time and on toczilibumab (roactemra?)
My rheumy wants me to start this new drug in June following bad reaction to rituximab in December. I'm worried how i can fit this in as it is a monthly infusion. Does it take as long to infuse as ritux? And do you need the same antihistamines and steroids with the infusion? I am finding it really

Itchy palms of hands and soles of feet
Can't imagine that this has any relevance to Raynauds and Scleroderma but last Monday the palms of my hands began to itch and also the soles of my feet were very hot and itchy - felt as though I couldn't stand still as it was so irritating. Went to GP who asked all the usual questions - have you changed

Hay Fever and an Itchy Nose
Hello My post is a hay fever, rather than a asthma related, question so I hope that's ok. As we approach the summer, or for many known as the dreaded hay fever season, I was wondering if anyone could help give me a little advice on behalf of my daughter Abi who is one such sufferer. Abi is fourteen

Does lupus cause itchy sore eyes sensitive to bright lights?
Hi, I was just wondering does lupus cause itchy, sore eyes that are sensitive to bright lights? It started yesterday and has been particularly bad today despite taking antihistamine. I had quite a bad day with muscle and joint pain in legs and arms yesterday too but dont know if my eyes are lupus Related

Hi, my question relates to home thyroid test kits (advanced) are they accurate? More info re this choice of action below :-)
My mother has a thyroid condition, and some other female family members too, I've had loads of exasperating and worsening symptoms over last four years but my gp will only test TSH and FT4. My symptoms are constant and some of them worsen periodically. To name but a few, dry eyes, very dry skin on body

intense itchy rash
I've got an intensely itchy rash on my hands and forearms. I saw the GP on Tuesday who prescribed an antihistamine (no relief) was sent to have a blood test too. Saw another GP today as the itchiness is driving me insane- blood results back which showed I have a high WBC count. Giving 2 different creams

I have had Vasculitus for around 5 weeks now - my legs are covered!
The doctors have been seeing me on a weekly basis at the hospital for the finally diagnosed 'Vasculitus'. They are unaware of what type I have and are confused as to why I do not have an underlying condition that has triggred this vasculitus. I do also have Diabetes but all my blood and urine tests have

What should I do about hay fever?
It's only been a few months since I was diagnosed, so now that spring, and hay fever season are here, I'm wondering what to do about seasonal allergies. In the past I've taken antihistamines, but they all have warning labels on the packages that state that people with liver diseases should consult a

First Caelyx went smoothly
Hi everyone I had my first dose of Caelyx yesterday and brilliantly, everything went smoothly! The only hitch was due to our local pharmacy being refurbished, the stuff had to be prepared in Worthing and sent across. Instead of an 11 o'clock start, it was 12:30. Not sure why, as I was told I was getting
