Could this be Hughes?
I wondered if I could ask advice from people ‘in the know’ for their opinion before I go to my GP and ask for a test for Hughes out of the blue. I have suffered various vague symptoms for a number of years but didn’t put them together until it was suggested that it may be Hughes. In case there

Has anybody here developed an allergy to rice, or cross-sensitivity to it since going GF and eating all that extra rice?
Rice has always been a staple in my diet and now, for the last few years, my consumption of it has probably tripled. I am to be tested for a true allergy but can't until I've been off my antihistamines (for seasonal allergies) for at least 30 days. Doctor has said if it a sensitivity it will not show

Pityriasis Rosea - making it manageable
I have just been diagnosed with Pityriasis Rosea and aside from Antihistamines for the itching they say there isn’t much they can do, what have others done to help manage it and how bad can it get?

Antihistamines
Hi everyone, I'm just looking for information before I see the asthma nurse next month. I am on loratadine 10mg daily for 'hayfever asthma.' I have tried various others and find this one the best. Can I add another one to this to see if it helps? I need to ask the pharmacist this question really to

Does anyone take antihistamines
I have become sensitive to all sorts of things. Mainly perfumes and believe it or not Toothpaste. I am going to the theatre on Weds. and wondered if it would be better to take them for a few days before to get a build up or as I usually do when I go to the hairdresser just take the one. One is slightly

My GP prescribed this for me a few months ago, it's very good so wanted to recommend it for anxiety. It's normally prescribed as an antihistamine but also used in the treatment of anxiety too. Helps with sleep too which is always an added bonus!

Asthma or Copd or both?
I was diagnosed with occasional asthma, several years ago, only came on now and again; Then two years ago diagnosed with COPD, and was very recently an emergency to resuss, gone axphsic (blue) with severe breathing problems. How to tell the difference between the two please? or can you have both?

Burning mouth
Hi! Does anyone suffer with the feeling that your mouth is burning? My lips also feel burnt and fizzy and sometimes look swollen with small raised blisters and my skin around my mouth feels irritated. It always gets worse when I feel unwell, which I do at the moment! It gets worse as the day goes on

Feeling very sorry for myself today
I have had asthma and emphysema (now severe) for the last ten years. I`ve learned to cope with that but in July 2010 I started to itch and burn all over. I was tailing off steroids after 18months of polymyalgia and have itched and burned since then. I`ve had every antihistamine known to man and every

Keeping one's mood up
First, a big thank-you. I stumbled on Asthma UK during an internet search earlier this week, and have been reading through many of the posts and discussions here. I've found them quite helpful. I am currently working though a longish asthma exacerbation that started with a cold at the end of October

My parents have cats (my trigger) and whilst living at home I had some tolerance to it I guess. But since moving out going home is a nightmare, for a few days before going I take my seretide 250, nasal spray, both drowsy and non drowsy antihistamines, i might as well have taken nothing. What can I do

Neti Pot - Nasal cleansing for Sjogren's, dry nose, allergic rhinitis, sinus problems, colds.
I have found testimonials and tests showing that nasal cleansing (with salty water, for starters at least) can help tremendously with many nose/ breathing/nasal mucosa related problems. It is very simple, cheap and safe. I can say for allergic rhinitis and all sort of cold/flu related nose problems

Reasons for not running Part 1
Yesterday I woke up to find that one of my eyes wouldn’t open. Something had bitten me in the night (bed bugs feature heavily in my Google history at the moment) and I’d suffered some kind of allergic reaction which had made my face swell up. I looked like a cross between Caliban and the Elephant Man
