Hi, Does anyone suffer from Urticaria? I have underactive thyroid (hashi's) and for quite a while now have been feeling quite well. A few weeks ago I started feeling itchy, large and small red bumps appearing on skin. Saw the Doctor and he said it was urticara and prescribed antihistamine. Almost

IgE blood levels & spirometry
Had first consultant appointment last week and got bloods done. I have various allergies so wasn't surprised when she decided to get my IgE levels checked. Wanted to know what happens if it comes back high? I realise this confirms an allergy to something but do you then require allergy testing to get

Is anyone else having issues with hayfever?
Hi all :) I've noticed that I've started getting symptoms of hayfever again over the last week or so (it can't be that time again already can it?!) It started with me waking myself up coughing (and one of my flatmates who kindly told me to shut up). I hoped it was a cold but since then feeling like

ANCA now negative
I tested positive p-anca in November 2013. Retested again, and test has come back negative from lab. I don't know what to do now! I have all symptoms of vasculitis small vessels but would say that symptoms are mild but doctor is dismissing this due to negative result. I have just had an endoscopy which

Polycythemia vera and urticaria
Just been diagnosed with chronic urticaria (hives). Does anyone else have it. The itching is driving me mad, but only lasts about an hour or two and then fades and starts up somewhere else. Doc is trying me on antihistamines.

Poor care at GP practice
I saw a consultant this week and gathered from her reaction that the asthma care at my GP practice is really poor. From what I read on AUK website it is rather common, unfortunately, but I'm curious as to how others have dealt with this and what their experiences were. The nurse that was assigned to

Antihistamines
Hi thinking of taking some Cetirizine to stop some of the irritation in my throat and chest, I used to take it permanently for several years till the doc decided to take it off me last year. Does anyone else take antihistamines all the time?

Pred and skin prick testing
I'm having allergy testing repeated for various reasons, but one thing I'm confused about: does being on pred long-term-ish (about 4 months now, 15-40mg at variois times) affect the results of skin prick testing for allergies? I've looked it up and found conflicting answers. I've also rung the AUK nurses

Hello! I'm hoping somebody out there can help as I'm a mystery to the doctors at the minute. I suffer badly with hayfever in the summer and all year round rhinitus with ocassional sinus problems. Allergies/rhinitis etc
So...last year I managed to develop hayfever. I thought it was a mild seasonal thing. I don't really know what I'm allergic to because the tests come back negative, but I think it must be at least some trees (cons said presumably not the ones tested for but agreed if I was reacting around certain plants

New here -consultant referal - what can I expect?
Hi all, I'm new here. Thought I'd sign up and ask a few things since I've been lurking the forum quite a lot over the past weeks and it's been very useful. I was diagnosed about five years ago by a respiratory consultant I was refered to due to anaphylaxis/general allergy issues (no allergy specialists

What could this mean? Worried
Basically I've had asthma all my life. It used to be very bad when I was a child but I hadn't had any attacks for over a decade. Over the last year my asthma has deteriorated again. I was put on Fostair which helped a lot until recently. About 3/4 weeks ago I had an attack and was given Prednisolone
