Running Really Is For Life
Hi everyone, it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted anything but I just wanted to say that running really is for life. 8 years ago this week, at the ripe old age of 55, I made one of my life’s better decisions. Having never run before, I bought a pair of cheap running shoes and started my c25k

Pelvic pain for 7 years
Hi everyone, I have really been struggling with pelvic pain for 7 years. Mine is due to muscle spasms. Prior to 7 years ago, I used to occasionally feel a twinge of pain that I thought was a UTI coming on, I would drink water and try to relax and it would go away within minutes. Little did I know that

Physio 3 - GPs and Endos - 0
I have just been diagnosed with a frozen shoulder and had been telling my GP and endo that I thought it was related to the autoimmune hypothyroidism. They both thought that thyroid patients have a dreadful habit of associating everything that happens to them with thyroid and that it probably wasn't related

Blood Count results and their direction!
we are wondering why she is feeling pain even
physiotherapy
did not help her. We are expecting feedback upon the CBC as WBC and Lymphocyte are increasing? Can we estimate whether it is fast or slow progression?

Total knee replacement
Hi and good sunny morning to you all. 6 weeks ago I had a total knee replacement should have been a 3 day stay but I was in hospital for 3 weeks. I developed phumonia and a PE. I'm struggling to recover on top of that I've had no RA drugs for about 10 weeks and won't be allowed back on my biologic drug

Lung reduction operation
My husband's consultant has agreed for him to have a lung reduction operation, but says he will be at a high risk of mortality due to servere copd. His quality of life is deteriorating, and the consultant has said if he wants to go ahead it needs to be this summer. My biggest concern is that since

A year on and no further forward
I posted a few times a year ago. Since then, I spent 7 months in a rehab centre that was seriously disappointing, then the night before I was due to go home I had a stupid accident resulting in a broken leg, a 5th hospital, and I'm now in bed in another care home with a thigh length cast and have lost

CBD cream for pain
I was recommended by my physical therapist to try CBD cream for the after surgery hip pain. Does anybody have an experience with using it? I have an incision from the knee to the middle of the butt, and the pain is unbearable at night. Over the counter topical creams don’t help.

How is it still an acceptable comment?
Hi there! Hope you’re all doing ok. I went to the doctors this week to discuss new pain medication - I’ve exhausted the options over the last 6 years but have now been told to stop everything and take one tramadol at night as well as paracetamol and ibuprofen. I explained that the paracetamol & ibuprofen

Negative ccp
I had a ccp blood test Thursday and had a phone call today with the dr to discuss my results. I am negative so no signs of ra. He did say I have some inflammation but we didn’t discuss it and now I’m mad at myself because I didn’t ask! He basically said as this is the same pain & symptoms & have been

GCA since October 2020 -from Virginia
New here! Naively, I thought if I did everything doctor advised, I would be “cured” by now. Now realize this seems to be an ongoing condition, with many setbacks. I have tapered to 8mg prednisone, 10mg methotrexate, and started monthly infusion of Actemra in February. Still have symptoms, particularly

Plantar Fasciitis
Any tips for getting rid of Plantar Fasciitis (a painful heel)? I have had it since September 21, probably caused by digging in inappropriate footwear, and although it's slowly getting better, it ain't gone yet. My previous bout 30 years ago took six months before I hardly noticed it. I have tried rest

Opinions please
Good morning. I haven’t posted for awhile so a little update. Just before Covid made its first appearance, I was feeling the best I’ve felt in along time. I was going to aqua 3 times a week as well as a fun dance class & also a lot of walking. I still had the occasional flare but on the whole I was fit

Prednisolone tapering
Hi Everyone I’m currently on 7mg of prednisolone, reducing 1mg per month, down from 60mg when diagnosed with GCA in April 2021. Through the past months I’ve suffered with extreme spaciness and balance issues but since seeing a private ENT specialist and having neuro physio and, of course, the reduction

Help and advice
I would like some advice please. Just over 6 weeks ago I fell down some steps and badly damaged both knees. No cuts but both my legs went under my backside and wrenched both knees. I've been going to the physio and I do the exercises prescribed by the physio everyday. I walk the dog everyday. However

Sorry but I have to rant…
This is a long post, so I apologise in advance. I’m absolutely at the end of my tether with the NHS - I’m exhausted and in pain all the time and I just expect some level of care from medical professionals in my local surgery and from NHS England, but instead they’re causing me so much stress and upset
