Knee pain arthritis
I tried Flexiseq a while ago, don’t think I was using it for the right sort of pain. I think it’s better for joints and my pain was muscular. I was told when I bought it that you shouldn’t rub it into your skin. Spread it on and let it dry in.
Have you tried a stretchy elastic knee tube supports you can buy in the chemist? I’ve used them in the past for various body parts - knees, wrists and ankles, the heat they generate seems to help.
You could also try using Nordic walking poles, they take the pressure off your knees. We have a friend who has just had his second knee replacement who eventually bought himself a pair of Leki poles, I’d been telling him how good they were for ages. He found them really helpful and he got brownie points too when he told his physiotherapist he was using them. Physiotherapists like them.
Ideally you would benefit from finding a teacher who would show you how to use them, there is a special way to do it but I dare say you could find a YouTube that explains how to use them.
I joined a six week beginner’s course then bought my poles from the instructor and I haven’t looked back. I’ve got a sacral insufficiency fracture and find they take the weight off my lower back and pelvis as well as the knees but I really like them because they provide a lot of stability if you are walking on rough ground or if it is muddy underfoot. When I’m out on my walks I see a lot of people using poles and we give each other a nod as we go past.
Bearing in mind that I do have a lot of weird reactions to meds, ointments etc. I seemed to have a reaction to the Flexiseq. I had seen positive reviews on the site so, as my knees were starting to play up and I had been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, I thought I would try some prevention. The pain was fairly mild. After using the gel as advised I started to get a lot more pain and have had ever since. It may be a coincidence of course. I find Volterol gel better.
.thank you for your reply. Ime not good with certain meds had zolodronic acid infusion for osteoporosis 2 yrs and refused the 3rd and to be honest my knees have got worse since the infusion but little I can do since it's in your body for a long time .I do use volotrol too but don't think it helps much think it's a knee replacement eventually which I don't want so I do try exercise a little but I have a balance prob too so difficult hope you feel better soon 😉
I’ve got a very bad thumb from osteoarthritis and I use voltaro on it. It does help but my thumb is so bad now I can hardly use it.
Dextersam10, look into Delta Tocotrienol, a form of vitamin E that is also a bone builder, and boron. Search on "nothing boring about boron" for an overview. Dr. Jorge Flechas MD in North Carolina has several youtube videos about boron. In one he relates how it prevented him from loosing height and it's effect on arthritis. Always consult your health care
