Just found this moments ago. I have no clue otherwise, but worth checking out.

"The GIGER MD® therapy is not based on medication, but on regular training using special training instruments . This training can be carried out by anyone, without tiring (very gently, but still moving) and without pain."

"The therapy on the GIGER MD® medical device is a unique combination of physiotherapy and neurotherapy , the unprecedented efficiency of which cannot be achieved with conventional therapy methods. Like other degenerative disorders of the CNS, Parkinson's disease is a disease with an insidious course and often breaks out unnoticed. Symptoms can occur during everyday activities or only at certain times."

Looks like you can get this therapy in Hyannis MA

GIGER MD® therapy is based on scientific evidence that it is possible to create new neural connections and to program the brain to embrace new movement patterns. Through coordinated and guided movements, the central nervous system can be reorganized. For those affected by Parkinson’s, this is a way of influencing the course of their illness in a targeted manner and regaining long-lost skills to a certain extent (for example: a normal gait). Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of this method – even in seemingly hopeless cases.

GIGER MD® therapy represents one possibility of obtaining and recovering the highest possible quality of life despite Parkinson’s. In addition, those affected can often reduce their drug dosage, thus reducing the associated side effects.

The video examples seem to show PwP at the stage in PD where medication isn't enough to control the symptoms. Earlier stages may be more difficult to determine a result and definitely couldn't produce such a dramatic video.

the question remains if this is a new therapy why are the youtube videos showing its benefits from several years ago?

so if you want to see how this all works watch this video and you will see how the woman uses the therapy - it is like lying on your back and pedaling with your arms and legs

I tried it personally, myself, last summer. Was seriously wonderful, except that it costs about 10k.There's a lot more to it than just what you see. ALOT. It exercises multiple physical modalities, as well as cognitive integration. I felt fantastic after just 20 mins. If you have a Giger MD in your area, at a PT center or rehab center, I strongly encourage you to try it. I would buy one if it weren't so expensive.

Healthabc, Do you have to use the whole giant machine for home use? I had looked into it a while ago and there’s no way to afford something like that. But I think I only found like one place that advertises it in United States. But they have smaller machines on their site. One is called a “gym” for example. I was curious if they have coded prices on them or if you could even use them at home by themselves.

It has to be the whole big machine. Believe me, I would have bought one if I could have . But they are in a few rehab centers , if you are lucky enough to live nearby.

OK, thank you. I wish they could scale it down but I’m sure that’s not possible.

Do you have any gait issues and did the Giger machine help with it? How many sessions did you have? Would like to know if the improvements last or if patients have continued benefit after years of use. The videos from the company show patients after 1-2 sessions only.

Dare I say it was exhilarating... I have no gait issues when medicated- but still, I walked more freely immediately after the Giger. I didn't think it could make any difference, but it did. I had 3 sessions, 20 min each, consecutive days. The improvements lasted but a day or two.
