After 26 years, bloods are still a puzzle?
Here is a blood test from yesterday. I've been from T4 only, for 25 years, to T3 only, for 3weeks, to, now, 50 mcg of T4 and 30 mcg of T3. I began having problems six months ago with Levo while I was removing all traces of processed sugar from my diet. I had been on .88 mcg of Levo for 25 years and

VITAMIN A versus betacarotine
When I first joined TUK,in pre internet forum days,I seem to remember being advised to take betacarotine,as hypothyroidism created a problem with converting vitamin A. Can't seem to find anything about this now.Is it a good idea to take vitamin A or betacarotine?Just finished some cod liver oil capsules

Going round in circles
I have another appointment at my GP today (having seen them at least once a week for the past 2 months) to try and sort my pain levels out. I suffer with chronic back, hip and joint pain - no official diagnosis as of yet but GP is worried about the instability of my hip joint. It clunks out of place

An understanding GP
I was first diagnosed with high THS two & a half years ago, I was prescribed 25 mg, after 12 months a blood test showed the THS had dropped, but I had anaemia, something I have never had. I had a gastroscopy and endoscopy, neither revealed a problem. As I had read that reducing THS (or a low one) could

Desperate for adequate medication.
Hi, my partner has struggled with pain from Fibromyalgia for many years. This is our 4th year together and during this time she's never been able to nail decent pain meds. Co-codamol, Gabapentin & Naproxen have all but failed. She continues to soldier on with these in various combinations but her GP

Levothyroxine sodium anhydrous
Over the years we have seen several discussions around the issue of some manufacturers stating "Levothyroxine sodium" and others "Levothyroxine sodium anhydrous" . Just noticed that the current British National Formulary gives the active ingredient in every listed levothyroxine product, including liquids
