First gynae app, do I go straight for a laparoscopy or try the mirena coil first?!
I’ve had my first gynaecologist appointment and she’s advised most of my symptoms point towards possible having both adhesions from a previous c-section and endometriosis. She’s given me the option of going for a diagnostic laparoscopy now or waiting 6 months and trying the mirena coil to see if that

Pelvic pain
Hello. I am 47 y/o and have had pelvic pain with increasing severity over the last several months. The pain is constant over my entire pelvis with longer and longer waves of pain that feel like labor. I had a Mirena IUD since March but just had it removed last week and then the pain really skyrocketed

Mirena Coil
Hi, I'm new to this group. I had my first Mirena Coil fitted 14 years ago (under anaesthetic) at the age of 34. I had constant heavy bleeding and was told eblation, mirena or hysterectomy. Mirena stopped bleeding, but have continued to experience symptoms, I put down to Hashimotos Thyroiditis - anxiety

Contraception? Endometriosis and hypermobility
Hiya, I wondered if anyone had any advice as to what contraception worked best for them if they suffer from both endometriosis and hypermobility. Endo is of course fuelled by estrogen but then hypermobility is fuelled by progresterone. While waiting for my surgery date I've been put on Cerelle, a

Ok I'm at my wits end after six years of flooding through tampons in three minutes or no longer able to hold them in. I have moved on from night time pads to incontinence pads to incontinence pants and as an alternative toddlers nappies...many at the same time. I flood so much blood and huge huge clots

Dismissive surgeon, how can I change?
Hi all. I am struggling with very painful periods, plus a lot of discomfort in vaginal area, for over 7 years now. Also painful bowel movements all the time, which are getting progressively worse. Nothing wrong with the bowel though, colonoscopy came clean so I got an IBS diagnosis. Due to the other

What’s it like coming off the Mirena coil after 5 years to try and conceive?
During a very successful laparoscopy I had the mirena coil fitted. This will be five years ago in April. The combination has made my endometriosis very manageable and I feel very lucky. I’m at a point in my life where me and my partner are starting to consider starting a family and with my Mirena coil

Mirena coil 3 months later...
Hi All, I had the mirena coil fitted early September 2018. My consultant wouldn't send me for another lap as I only had one last March, but I was in a lot of pain again and had constant periods. Whilst it has taken a while for my periods to stop, the last week or so they seem to have stopped completely

Zoladex and Tibolone
Hi, I’ve had endo for 20 years plus, had 2 ops was treated using Mirena but that doesn’t seem to work anymore so and am about to have my first Zoladex injection combined with taking Tibolone. I’m pretty nervous about it after reading others experiences. Any reassuring advice welcome.

I’m so fed up :(
Background story - diagnosed with endo 4 years ago after 7/8 years of pain. Minimal endo found and lazered by general gynaecologist. Went back a year later as still in loads of pain, another op with no endo found and Mirena coil fitted. Mirena helped for 8 months then all of the pain returned so had

Severely anaemic.
After seeing my GP on Thursday following 23 days of flooding (aged 56) I had blood taken on Friday at 10:15am expecting my results available online by Monday or Tuesday next week. Five hours later a partner at the practice called me to say the hospital had called my results straight through as my haemaglobin

Trying to conceive with Endo stage 4 and worried about my chances
I've never posted anything, anywhere before, but I just need to talk. Sorry if this is an essay but I don't know what to leave out and what to include! I was diagnosed 3 years ago with stage 4 Endo, after first suspecting I had it over 10 years ago. I was told that I would most likely have troubles conceiving

What stage would you say this is?
So I had my lap earlier in the year and the surgeon said it was removed off both ovaries and my womb and believed it was everything. No diagnosis of what stage endometriosis it was, but still in pain. Was sent for an MRI when I was on a Mirena coil which calmed things down a lot and it showed a 25mm

Could I possibly be pregnant?
Let me first of state the fact that I am on the Mirena coil. A girl in my work spooked me about this as she got pregnant on the same coil herself. I’ll be 6 days late with my period tomorrow and no sign yet of it, I know eventually the coil makes your periods very nonexistent but I’ve only been on

Really painful periods!
Hi all, I'm new here and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and the sister of endometriosis - 'Adenomyosis'. I had the mirena coil put in a last month but really struggled with the pain and as a result went to A&E and had it removed straight away! Not a good option 😔 anyway, since that experience
