Honest opinions on mirena coil please...good and bad
Hi ladies So considering getting the mirena coil. Did it help your pain? How did it affect your periods? I'm in pain daily with my endo and need something to help now. Painkillers aren't really helping and don't want to take them every day. Thanks x

Possible endo?
Hi there, I'm 22 years old andI was hospitalised back in September due to a large ovarian cyst on my right ovary which had ruptured. Since then I've been back and forth to my gynaecologist for scans etc. Ruled out PCOS early on, he at first suggested it may be Endo and sent me for regular scans to monitor

Giving up on your IUD?
Hello all, Just wondering if anyone has any insights or personal stories on when it might be sensible to give up on your IUD. I've had a mirena before, and experienced more cramping with it. After removal, the cramping went away but the pain to poo from the endo came back. About 4 years later I'm now

My experience of the Mirena IUD and Mirena Crash - please read if you are considering having the coil, or are about to have it removed
Hey everyone, I hope you're all having as pain-free a day as possible. I thought I would write a post dedicated to my experience with the Mirena, as if I had seen something like this before I got mine I could have saved years of trouble and wouldn't be in the position I am now with the dreaded crash

Lap came back normal, what now?
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. I've had problems with my period for years and years now (I'm 26) and have tried various treatments. The pill/mini pill gave me terrible side effects, the mirena coil didn't work, various painkillers including Diclofenac, Mefenamic acid, Naproxen

Best contraception
I just wanted to ask for opinions on different contraception. I have tried lots of different pills e.g norothisterone and different combined pills. I have had the depo injection and also the Mirena coil. I am having the coil removed as it hasn’t worked and is embedded in my womb but I am just wondering

Three months after laparoscopy
Hi all, I had a laparoscopy mid February. Endo was removed from the ligament of my uterus and was also found on my ovary. All on my left side. My recovery has been quite slow. Originally my pain has always been on my right side. However since my laparoscopy I am now in pain on the left. Pretty much

Bowel symptoms
Hey, In hindsight I always had gynae symptoms but due to lack of knowledge didn't realise. By 2011 these were extreme. Was diagnosed with endo 2012 but think they didn't realise the extent of it. Had laser which now realise is mistake and mirena fitted. Things didn't really improve. In 2014 had another

Best contraception for hypothyroid?
Hello ladies, I was wondering what contraception you used, if any? Over the years I’ve had Mirena coil, but I was getting awful cystic spots around my jawline that seemed to be worsening. I decided to try the Yasmin pill, as it was supposed to be great for reducing hormonal spots. And it did work to

Vaginal bleeding with bowel movement? 😅
Not the nicest post, I have the Mirena coil fitted and low oestrogen combined pill on top to stop bleeding, all working well to stop periods. Still have daily pain but manageable, worse when sitting or driving for more than 10 mins and constant back pain. I have noticed that when I have a bowel movement

Frustrated - no one will do anything to help!
I was diagnosed with endo and adenomyosis in September 2018 following a biopsy, saw gynae in November 2018 who fitted a new Mirena coil (even though had 4 coils fitted over last 20 years and endo has still grown!). Symptoms continued so asked GP for another referral to gynae in February 2019, appointment

Feel lost - need advice on treatment given that pain is back less than two years after laparoscopy. How many laps is 'normal'?
I am 39 and was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2017. After years of telling doctors my period pains matched the symptoms for endo but being told it couldn't be, I finally was ill enough to find a surgeon privately. He was so certain I had endo that he didn't do a diagnostic laparoscopy and went straight

Blue Horizons Genetic Test Results.... Can anyone help explain what this means for me?
I’m just wondering if this suggests I should try T4/T3 combo - would these results be worth discussing with an Endo? Also I have Mirena Coil and Oestrogen patch....maybe ditch the patch? I know I don’t handle stress well and believe prolonged stress caused my Hashimotos... The TSHR - is odd as I am Hypothyroid

Hi Everyone, quick background. 2 kids - 13 and 4 started with endo symptoms pre-pregnancy with baby number 2. GP messed around with my pills and I got caught out with baby number 2. Pregnancy and birth fine. Symptoms came back worsening to where we are now. Had my lap surgery 28th April - diagnosis

Hyperplasia? + Egg donation?
Hello! I went yesterday to the clinic to have my hysteroscopy post-op thinking (rather foolishly) that it would be straightforward and I could get on with the rest of my life, but alas no. I've now found out that I have hyperplasia (but not atypical) and will need the mirena coil (Oh! The irony!) for

Mirena Coil fail?
Has anyone had a mirena coil fitted for the treatment of endometriosis and it not work? Or caused more heavy bleeding than before?

Do thyroid, iron and the coil clash ?
Hi, I'm currently suffering alapcia and hair thinning. I was on 150mg of thyroxine and after a blood test I've been reduced to 125mg and I also had a mirena coil in but now had that removed. My iron level was 50 a couple of months ago (taking 2 tablets a day) but now I'm taking iron tablet 3 times a

Migraine - menopause - HRT
Aged 51 now, I have been suffering migraine for 2.5 years. I have a Mirena coil so do not have a monthly cycle. I went to see a private Gynae consultant who said she didn't think I was in menopause but offered me Oestrogen gel to try. Before I tried it, I had an appt with my Neurology Consultant
