Hi I had it and loved it until trying to conceive after removal. Although it does state you can instantly become fertile the reality it that’s not everyone and we were told it can take over a year to get everything back to normal. If fertility is not a problem then I thought it was great.

I had the mirena coil about 3 years ago and didn't get on with it at all. I found that I was very sensitive to the synthetic hormones in it and although they say the hormones are localised, it affected my moods a lot and triggered a really bad spell of anxiety and depression. I asked to have it taken out after about 5 months and it took a good year + to feel normal again. Personally I wouldn't have it again and wish I had never had it. Saying that though I have heard of plenty of people who get on with it really well. If I was going to have a coil again I would go for the copper coil.
