Got suspected endometriosis on bowel. Had Mirena coil fitted in Feb and although the pain and fatigue has increased, the change in my bleeding and post period sleeping has been immense. Went for laparoscopy last week however I’m yet to find out what happened (my GP is on the case for me). They told me they fitted a new coil but didn’t tell me beforehand that they would need to or tell me why...any ideas?

Hi, they should have asked you if you wanted to continue with the coil. I had a lap recently and got the option. I still wanted one and thought they took the old one out for the procedure.. but was told after that they left the old one in. I don’t know why.
How are you feeling and did you get a follow up appointment?
Thanks for the response. I’m waiting for a follow up appointment with my consultant in the first week of Feb.
Turned out I had to have antibiotics and stronger painkillers for the wound as well! But at the moment I’d just like the find out what they’ve found etc. I’ve got new GP’s appointment and was told they would be able to tell me by then
I hope you get some answers. I hope you feel they are open with you and give you some treatment options.
I had so many confusions and mix ups with my appointments and scans and all the admin side, it’s left me lacking confidence in my surgeon, his team, my care and their findings...
but feel paranoid.. like I know I should be happy that they said my pelvis looks healthy. I’m going to be asking a lot of questions in my follow up.
