Bowel Bleeding - being passed between gynae and gastro
Hi All, I have had a very long and emotional journey, starting about 17 years ago when I was 15 with 4 week long very heavy periods and then 1 week off, fatigue, abdominal, back and leg pain, along with a lot of bleeding from my bowel. I keep being passed between gastro and gynae with both saying

Mirena coil
Does anyone have experience of mirena coil? I'm approaching 50 and my GP has suggested switching to that from Gedarel (combined pill), which I've been on for years with no problems. I've never liked the idea of the coil but they won't prescribe Gedarel after 50... Hopefully I'll have reached the menopause

Help interpreting results & likelihood of diagnosis if I saw a private practitioner.
Good afternoon, I’m at my wit’s end and would very much appreciate help interpreting recent blood tests and symptoms. I previously posted a few weeks back with details of private tests carried out with Monitor my Health on 24/1/23. They were as follows: TSH 4.74 mu/L (0.27 - 4.2) FT4 13.9 pmol/

I’m new here, could my endometriosis be coming back? Any advice would be great
I was diagnosed with endometriosis in January last year. It was removed from my pelvis and the surface of my bowel and bladder. I had the Mirena coil fitted during my laparoscopy. My recovery was difficult but I eventually got there and 7/8 months later I was back to myself. All was going great until

Isn't it supposed to get better?
I had my laprascopy, cyst removal and mirena insertion back in August last year. Didn't have my first period until Jan/Feb this year and after years of agonising, painful and heavy periods I relished in the break. But this is my 2nd.. third period now and while the pain is nowhere near as bad the other

Mirena IUD
What’s everyone’s experience with the mirena coil? I have had mine for 4 months now and had it inserted whilst I was under for my lap. I have a new symptom of stinging pains and my cramps are unbearable?! Is it worth me sticking it out? My surgeon always says it is best to stick it as it hurts having

Endo with no bleeding?
I’m on the waiting list for diagnostic lap and just looking for some advice. My pain is always on the right side, behind my c-section scar. My daughter is coming up for 9. I have had the pain since then but had Mirena coil in between so it masked the symptoms. I’m worried that it can’t be Endo as I

Hi everyone, I saw a consultant yesterday via Cancer pathway GP referral, I have had horrendous heavy painful periods for as long as I can remember, I saw a consultant 4 years ago who said I had large fibroids and fitted a mirena coil. My periods never changed! It has taken over my life, so yesterday

Been told by gynae I'm too old for endo but gp disagrees?
I hope someone can help/advise please. I have been having severe abdo/gynae issues for a long time, but they have worsened in the past 12 months. I am 48 and my gp thought it was Endometriosis as I am having bowel and bladder issues, linked to my cycle. The pain is so bad I nearly pass out. I have seen

Dienogest V’s Mirena Coil - Advice/Preference please
Hi all, I was officially diagnosed with advanced Endometriosis last year after having a large endometrioma removed from the left ovary. I subsequently had 9 x Decapapetyl injections which I found increasingly difficult to endure primarily due to side effects of hot flushes plus aggressive/depressive
