Contraception? Endometriosis and hypermobility

Hiya,

I wondered if anyone had any advice as to what contraception worked best for them if they suffer from both endometriosis and hypermobility.

Endo is of course fuelled by estrogen but then hypermobility is fuelled by progresterone. While waiting for my surgery date I've been put on Cerelle, a progresterone only pill to try and reduce my periods and pain (which it's not - I'm also on a lot of codeine and naproxen).

I've also been on Cerezette and Microgynon before. Microgynon worked for a little while but it's hard to compare as I wasn't as acutely aware of my hypermobility symptoms as I now am, as I had spent a long time thinking my pain and flexibility was just normal. I was also told by doctors it was due to weight (I was maybe a stone overweight according to BMI at the time) but that's another story.

Since being on Cerelle for just two weeks I have severe neck and back pain and I am unbelievably hypermobile, more than I have been in a long time. I'm going to have to come off it, but being 25 I need an alternative.

I've not heard good things about copper coil (non-hormonal) as it causes heavier periods - so for someone with endo I can't imagine this would work. Similarily mirena can cause heavier periods but also it's progresterone based. So, I'm a bit stumped. Anyone found a good contraceptive choice, other than condoms?

The mirena may be okay for you as tge progesterone is localised to your womb xxx
