Merry Christmas! Hope everyone had a good one and has a very good new year!
This is my first post in a while, I've recently started having the feeling you get when you have a bladder infection! Like the tingling/Burning feeling at the end of peeing..I've read on Google that it may be caused by my Mirena Coil (I reluctantly had put in during my lap) they said it would help my endo..Well..the pain is a tiny lil less often, but the bleeding is constant and long..I used to have periods 4-5 days max and they weren't that bad..Now I've currently been bleeding for over 2 weeks..and this is my second one this month! Now a couple days ago I get the bladder feeling..Isit linked? Has anyone else had this!? Please let me no..really need some answers as to what the hell is going on.
Thanks in advance x

The coil settled down for me but took four months, no periods at all now which is great, feel nauseous most days for short periods , but I also had this bladder issue wasn’t an infection but has come back every 2 months on and off, I would seek help from your GP just to see what going on no explanation for mine other than the adenomyosis and endo effect ☹️
Thanx for your reply! As someone else who has the Mirena Coil..can I ask you some question!?
Do you or did you get headaches? Tiredness? Mood swings? Still quite alot of pain?
Sorry for all the questioning but someone it's better to hear it from someone else who's going through it rather than a doctor guessing what it'll feel like! xx
I do get headaches more especially as I am not used to having any headaches at all, I am not sleeping so well waking up hot and sick feeling comes and goes 2-3 night/ day never had this before only lasts a few minutes, on the plus side my monthlies were so heavy with quite some pain, bleeding through ultra towels in under an hour, bleeding through clothes at least 4 days out of 6 it’s a relief not to have this, it’s almost like a trade off, my only other option was to have a hysterectomy so giving this a try, my tiredness I think is more down to poor sleep. My consultant did say to give the coil 6 months to settle down, I did have weird bleeding patterns lasting 2 weeks initially for the first 3 months, it did get better, also went to the toilet more, probably the progesterone in the coil, that is also back to normal nowA few of my friends gave up early after a coil fitting, the ones that have stuck with it are pretty happy now in general.
However my consultant said 1 person in Every 10 doesn’t get in with the coil, 2 people will have no monthlies at all and the other 7 will get lighter bleeds, we are all different, if it’s not right for you after 6 months then push for another solution but it does take time for the coil and body to settle 😊
Hello I’ve been on my period actually I won’t even say period just bleeding for over an year after I had my daughter and my doc tho putting in Mirena would stop the bleed which made no different but while I had that on I had no symptoms and couple days with cramps and peeing difficult so I had to get it checked out as they found out it came out and that was causing my cramps and other symptoms.
And they had to give me an injection to stop the bleeding with that helped
If u feeling any discomfort by the Mirena I would advice to get a nurse to check if the Mirena still in place as I know when bleeding it still can push it out
