How many years can a health clinic or hospital legally keep your files?
About a year and a half ago, I stopped into a mental health clinic and asked them to schedule me. When I had my first appointment, the counselor started creating a file on me and casually mentioned that I had been there for counseling at a time that was more than twenty years ago. "Oh, they still

This is going to be too long! It my first attempt at connecting with this group. I have learned so much by reading your posts and replies. I know quality of life Igor the longest time is my dad’s goal. He was diagnosed May 2018 with stage four prostate cancer. He had been taking testosterone a few years

Anxiety Coping Methods
Hello everyone, Lately, I've been struggling to keep my anxiety down and I can't do anything to help it. I've tried meditating, breathing exercises, counseling, even tried smoking cannabis. But none seem to help, I was wondering if I could get more suggestions.

DIO2 test
Hi all, I have had the DIO2 genetic test ( Regenerus Labs ) and am scheduled for a counselling phone call next week. I do not know the results of the test but I either have the gene ( for hetero/homozygous polymorphism) or I don't. I just wanted to know what sorts of things I should ask about when I

Having a really hard time at the moment, just wish someone could give me the answers and tell me what to do for the best. (Long post sorry)
So I wrote last week regarding my pain being horrendous due to my endometriosis flaring up. I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence, due to my hormonal changes following the miscarriage or because of the Progynova. Anyway, I have spoken to both the clinic and my G.P practice regarding this and me

MS and mental health counseling.
I wrote about Cymbalta helping with mental health. But the other part of that is getting counseling. My new counselor does not get MS. She is using DBT. Anyone else have experience with that. It is a system of skills related to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that helps you change your thinking. But, it

Mood swings/Anger issues....... :o(
Hi, How common is it to have mood swings with an under-active thyroid? One minute i can be a happy bubbly person, next a cloud of doom appears and i become quite angry and bad tempered. Sometimes there isn't anything that triggers it, it just happens! And the frightening thing is it's virtually unstoppable

Appreciation
Sincere thanks to all the lovely ladies on this forum who responded so generously to my appeal for help last week. I have been much encouraged by the replies and will be following up all the suggestions. The update is that I am now to have an MRI next Saturday, no word yet from my oncologist but my GP

Work related stress on World Mental Health Day- the irony 😔
I feel like I’m having a dejavu! If somebody would have asked me if I’d be in the position AGAIN I would have said I no! I’ve worked so hard since being signed off before the summer holidays to be positive, good at my job and I’ve even started to enjoy my job again. I had a punch biopsy on my cervix

AN - BN - BED?
I haven't posted in a long time and thought I was doing well. Family circumstances changed last year and I was able to build confidence and make positive changes to food. I was discharged from the ED service having weight restored in March but I've consistently gained weight each month since. From purely

First comes miscarriage, then comes marriage
Hello everyone, I got engaged jan 17. We were super exited about getting married and starting a family. I bought the magazines, had a Pinterest board and a series link for don’t tell the bride. Then in April 18 we lost our angel at 10 weeks. Ever since, the excitement to get married has gone. Straight

In focus: managing the effects of chemotherapy - fatigue
Hello You may remember that we were doing a series of posts each month focusing on a particular health topic such as diet or complementary therapies. For October, we'll be looking at some of the effects of chemotherapy and how they can be managed. We're starting today with a post about fatigue. Fatigue

Regenerus DIO2 test?
To anyone out there who has done the above test. Hi there I have purchased this test and have received the pack, however it is a bit short on instructions. It just says rub your inside cheeks against your teeth before you spit into the small collecting cup. Do you have to leave a time between last eating

Anxiety meds/counseling.
Hello all. If you’ve seen my other posts you will know that I suffer from GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and that I also have very bad health anxiety and I believe that I’m a hypochondriac. I wanted to know if medications and/or counseling has helped anyone. I don’t have any medical insurance,

Wonderful Patient day Dublin 5 Oct
I was so happy I made the effort to attend Patient day yesterday. As usual Sharon had organised the day perfectly. Her guest speakers were truly inspiring and meeting old and new friends was the icing on the cake. June and Rachel were as usual giving their time and Rachel touched us all with her own
