Aortic Valve Replacement - Home and next 7 days
When my wife first picked me up from the hospital my only thoughts were of joy. Not because the hospital and staff didn't look after me well, I cant't praise them enough, but everyone wants to get back to normality. Hospitals are difficult places to feel comfortable in. The first night back in my own

Just the two of us
This is my first post on MTL. Next week will be my 5th wedding anniversary. This also marks 5 years since we started trying to conceive. I was 27 and OH was 33 and we felt we had our whole lives before us which would be filled with family, friends and love. After 2+ years of trying the GP diagnosed

Hi I’m new
Hi, I just heard of this site and I’ve been diagnosed with major depressive disorder about a year ago. When I went to counseling and they said that, I guess I thought it would be cured in a way and so even though it’s been a year I just realized it’s not something that I can cure and never deal with

No improvement after laparoscopy?
Hi everyone, I really just wanted some advice. I had my laparoscopy 5 weeks ago now, they found a lot of endo but managed to remove the majority of it. I was told I would have a follow up in 6 months time so yet again I’ve been left to deal with this alone with no help or support from any health professionals

First post: Hello Everyone
This is my first time using this site, or any group support site. I am 28 and I have been dealing with symptoms of depression/anxiety for the majority of my life. I was forced to go to counseling when I was a teen and that only made things harder to deal with. Now that I am older it has gotten so much

Last appointment with perinatal team
I was discharged from the perinatal team today. I don’t know why but I sobbed my heart out in my last appointment I think mainly trying to get everything off my chest because I’ll never see him again. My psychiatrist was lovely I actually forst met him in 2014 for preconceptual counselling and two pregnancies

How to deal mentally with diagnosis?
Mum is stage 4 NCSC and soon to be starting on keytruda. It’s an odd ‘in limbo’ time as the words of the doctor saying the chemo hasn’t worked are still ringing. That combined with a new treatment which we will need to wait 3 months to see if effective. Mum is really anxious. Physically, mum is doing

How do you re educate your spouse on depression and how to treat you?
My husband and I are in
marriage
counseling
. We are both in our 50s. I am a survivor of abuse and have had depression all my life. He understood before but now lately, it seems like he has forgotten and that in itself has caused me to feel unsafe and very depressed. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

A Cunning plan...
G'day folks. Some of you are aware that I've been struggling, particularly over the last few months, I thought I was doing better last week but had my first counselling session which was hard going. Long story short, I put on about 3.5lbs last week. Apologies for not weighing in on Sunday, ended up working

How long?
How long does a broken heart last? And why can’t I just get over this? Why, even after how bad he treated me, do I still want a miracle to happen? Why? When do I stop loving him? When do I stop CA ring? What if I never get over this? And can you die of a broken heart? I feel like I’m losing my mind

Counseling Help
What traits do you find necessary in your counselor or maybe even in the environment of their office? My 1st counselor was very chill and had the most calming room. She also had an emotional support rabbit. I had to stop seeing her due to insurance issues. My 2nd counselor’s office was like a bright

Medications
I made an appointment to talk about medications for my anxiety and depression. This will be my first time saying out loud to a professional that I am interested in trying medications. Does anyone have any advice as I go down this road, including questions I should ask or topics I should address, things

Hello ADHD parents
I am new here. I have a 12 year old son diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety at a young age. He will start counseling again soon. We have decided not to do meds yet. As an infant he had a few developmental delays for which he received early intervention, speech and OT services. He finally got an IEP this

Feeling distressed...
I'm 6dp5dt and I know I'm out again this cycle. I feel utterly sick, anxious and depressed every morning I wake. Starting to think I need to use my one free counselling session with my clinic. I thought prior to cycle 2 that this could be the one but how wrong can one person be. I know we're all going

Advice needed regarding bereavement counselling
Hi I'm new to this forum and would appreciate a little advice. I'm a shared lives carer for a 39 Yr old gentleman with Downs syndrome. Two years ago his Mum passed away after losing her battle with cancer. He is clearly still grieving for his Mum and struggling tremendously in lots of ways. I'm trying

Feel discriminated against due to poor mental health...
This might be long, I apologise... bit of background my depression and anxiety seemed to 'kick off' about a year ago when I began self harming (37yrs) and having suicidal thoughts, then soon after I took an overdose and ended up in a mental hospital for 4months where I was diagnosed with treatment resistant
