Constipated
I have had IBS D for some time now and although I used to manage a bowel movement every other day this is now getting worse (every 3-5 days) and think this may be due to taking
laxatives
(Senna & Ducolax) over a long period.

Food intolerance testing at home-need to get rid of the pain when I eat
I have spoken to every consultant that I have about the fact that the only way I can go to the toilet is by taking a huge number of
laxatives
, but they don't seem to act.

Does anyone know why Lactulose is not recommended for IBS sufferers?
Hi, I've just been reading the NICE guidelines for IBS and came across this: "
Laxatives
should be considered for the treatment of constipation in people with IBS, but people should be discouraged from taking lactulose. [2008]" Does anyone know why this is?

Fed up!
So for 5 years I was diagnosed with everything from ulcers and hernias to intolerances to IBS, they even tried to tell me it was all in my head at one point, I took every peppermint oil capsule, mebeverine, omeprazole, laprazole, even
laxatives
!

I don't know what to do
This summer I bought my first pack of
laxatives
, and I guess it was one of the best things I've done, I hate the feeling of being full but most of all I hate the fat that covers my body. So September 2015 I decided I was going to do something about it.

Not sure it's IBS but. . .
I thought it was due to constipation for a few days but last might the
laxatives
kicked in. It was so painful I thought I was going to pass out or be sick. Now i feel more tender and swollen. Is there ANYTHING I can do?

An interesting fact about vitamin A and thyroid funtion.
Antibiotics,
laxatives
, fat substitutes and cholesterol-lowering drugs interfere with vitamin-A absorption. - See more at: http://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/abcs-of-nutrition/vitamin-primer/#sthash.a9nC5LJD.dpuf Interesting bit about poor thyroid function and the conversion of carotenes from

Saw my endo today
I told her better, she interrupted me, what I wanted to say was "better then I was the last time I saw her but still getting heart palpitations and chest pain, tired and breathless on little exertion" but I did manage to say, I have chronic constipation, she said I may need to continue using

Still constipated
It takes about 3 weeks to get an appointment so I guess I'll just have to suffer and chuck more useless
laxatives
down my neck.

I wish my mum had told me I was beautiful
If you are struggling, or sitting at your laptop right now, alone and reading this, with a blade in your hand, your fingers near your mouth or a pile of empty food wrappers and a box of
laxatives
. Please stop and just think of yourself as a child. Look at that child.

Cant move forward
My GP has prescribed me with Macragol, but my Councillor told me that I shouldn't take
laxatives
as I will come to dependent on them. I have been taking them for 3 years but REALLY want to stop.
