Colonoscopy Prep
I have had to take
laxatives
for the last four months for a bowel movement. Prior to that I at least had one every other day. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so not sure why I am having the problem. My stools have been soft, wide and flat. And looks like there is blood spots mixed in it.

Struggling to potty train with chronic constipation
She has suffered a year with constipation which she is on
laxatives
for. One week she’s fine, the next completely constipated. We have started potty training but she is now with holding her wees (from 9am until 5pm!) we encourage lots of fluid, rewards etc but nothing.

Tributyrin
I watched a blog about it written by the manufacturer saying that if you’re on
laxatives
& are constipated, which I am , then getting the right dose is critical and to take 1 tablet every 3 days . Had anyone else has a similar experience please ? Thanks

Constipation and potty training in a 3 year old.
We have been to the doctors on and off with the same issue but all we ever get given is more
laxatives
. Her diet is good she gets enough fiber and drinks plenty of fluid. She soils in her pants and clenches due to the fear of the pain.

No more harsh
laxatives
that used to take days to work, then you had to be near the Loo. My Colorectal Consultant said if it works for you fine. I asked if I could get this prescription onthe NHS, He said no,to expensive! I also take D-Mannose supplements, I take 3daily.

So I finally went to the GI doc
I'm pretty concerned about the prep for the test (stimulant
laxatives
seem like a terrible idea for me considering), and the test itself, and whether it will trigger my afib. Anyone have any experience with that?

What should I do now?
Despite this the GP and private consultant I saw just want me to take
laxatives
. They have also suggested amitriptyline for the pain which was suggested about a year ago. I have no problem trying this if I'd have had a colonoscopy and knew for sure I wasn't just covering the pain up.

DIAGNOSIS
Laxatives
have not worked. I am going to colonscopy on Wednesday worried this could be bowel cancer. I also have gallstones and took tablets for this and this has improved the constipation but has increased diarrhoea and stomach pain.

Not sure what to think....
He just kept saying it's my bowel and to take
laxatives
. He didn't ask me many questions about my pain, family history, etc either.

Stress induced constipation
On a lot of prescribed
laxatives
as of today. My step-in line manager knows why I’m off and wants to put a plan in place to reduce work related stress next Tuesday in my return to work meeting, as stress is a big trigger for a flare up like this episode. Anyone else have IBS-C triggered by stress?

I have been trialled on other

such as Laxido, Fybogel & Senna but these made me worse. If anyone has any feedback on the suppositories would be great to know. Thx

BOWEL CANCER
I have been tried on many
laxatives
but not working for me. I am scared this could be cancer. I have had tumor markers done CEA for Liver and Colon Cancer and CA 125 for ovarian cancer and CA 19.9 for pancreatic cancer all clear.

Movicol - slow transit constipation
I have only just discovered Movicol (after 6 years of struggling with slow transit constipation) and it seems like a much better option that other
laxatives
? Does anyone know if it’s ok to use long term and the body doesn’t become dependent?
