Pain in lower lumber region.
I was diagnosed with PMR last October, in January I was also told I needed a hip replacement due yo osteoarthritis. I have been reducing steroids gradually and am now down to 10m.g. As the steroids reduce the pain in my lower lumber area and leg has increases considerable.....rheumy said steroids don't

Diagnosis of Pagets Disease
I was first told in June of 2010 that I had Pagets disease in my right hip and that it was deformed. I was having alot of problems with my right knee, I had no cartilage left, I was 50 years old and needed a knee replacement. The PA that diagnosed me got me in to see a Primary Doc the next day to have

I also have hypothyroidism and I recently found out that this could be connected. I have found this site very helpful as sometimes you feel

Back to normal
I have been in Manchester for a while looking after my Ex Mum in law who has had hip replacement surgery, and had my own Mums internment too. It has been a long and tiring time, emotional too. My walks have been short and a bit monotonous along the same stretch of paved bypass following the Manchester

Unhealthy food and weight loss
I'm eating under 1500 calories but not necessarily healthy . For exzample today I have had bran flakes and sausage roll and chocolate muffin then bran flakes for tea again . Will I still loose weight or does it have to be healthy food ?

SURGERY, AF, POTASSIUM
I thought this might be of interest to anyone facing surgery in the future and just to add to general knowledge 3 weeks ago I had a hip replacement and on the second night after successful and uncomplicated surgery I woke with AF. This was really disappointing as I had a very successful second ablation

Imipramine and restless leg syndrome
I have been taking imipramine for quite a few years now. It doesn't seem as effective as it did when I first started taking it. Does anyone else take imipramine for Rls? My mum suffers also but she has been prescribed gabapentin.

I seem to remember reading somewhere on here that having a general anaesthetic can affect how we feel but (brain fog!!) I can' t think what the answer was. I am hypothyroid, currently just on Levo and feeling crap! Low TSH, high T4 and low T3-but no treatment other than the continued Levo. I have low

Hip surgery
I was diagnosed with PMR last October, on steroids of 20 mg at the moment, pain in lower body never really eased. Yesterday consultant told me I need hip replacement . But steroids will have to be reduced to well below 10 before this can be considered. Can anyone inform me if they have had hip surgery

constipation and b12
Hi. looking for some advice as I am quite new to B12 issues. I have stopped taking B12 supplements as GP wants me to stay off for a few months so he can test for PA. Before, I started the B12, I was very constipated and bloated. I started having a high bran for breakfast about the same time as taking

Hip Replacement
I suffer from RD and Osteoporosis and after suffering many months of really bad lower back, groin and hip pain, the doctor sent me for X-rays. His receptionist has rung me and wants me to go in to see him on Tuesday. He said he thought I might need a hip replacement and would call me back if the X-rays

Hi, I'm new here.
I'm new to this community, but not new to HIV. I was diagnosed in 1988 after a bout with pneumonia. At that time, I had a diagnosis of maybe 2 yrs to live. It will be 28 yrs this June that I have survived. I'm proud to tell people I'm a long-term survivor. But, it has not been an enjoyable ride. Upon

HIV since 1983 converted to AIDS 1991 and still here.
Hey guys, I just joined the group today although I have been a part of the "family" for 33 years. I have been reading some of your posts and have felt overwhelmed with your struggles which echo my own in so many ways. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences. After surviving the past 33 years
