Back at it and feeling good
Feeling good and pleased I don't seem to have lost too much
fitness
. Can't wait to get back up to 5km! Or nearly, I was just 50m short which is probably why I hurt my knee. This programme really does achieve miracles. Having said that it would have been so easy to stop altogether.

AstraZenica and possible breathing probs
I have a very warm long & wide scarf that i keep near my mouth to help me breath in warm air-but its very worrying as I was walking very freely before my vaccine and unless I had a flare-up of COPD then my
fitness
level wasnt too bad-not as good as pre 1st lock down a year ago but Ive been walking 6000

My experience with BP
To say that my BP was coming down gradually even grudgingly is no understatement; I threw everything at it:
fitness
, weight control, diet, kyolic garlic etc. etc. and still the readings remained disconcertingly high not far short of hypertensive crisis levels; I wondered if I had resistant hypertension

Who would have thought a year ago that I'd miss running?
So I guess I'll try to keep at least some semblance of
fitness
while I wait to see a doctor, get an MRI etc. Physio said no running for now. And I had just decided to start working towards a half :( Thanks for listening! The dog is happy - he will go on longer walks than usual!!

Trying to banish the gremlins post pain
I am sure my
fitness
levels are pathetic too as I have only managed to walk one mile most days, with a handful of longer walks on good days. 1. Anyone here running on steroid pacified knees? Should I be this nervous? Am I being unrealistic to try and get back to 10k again? 2.

Shin Splints Causing No Progress
My cardio
fitness
is fine - I'm on my elliptical for 30 mins every other day, and going for walks is fine. It's just running that is causing problems. Is there anything I should be doing differently?

42 weeks of running and now my first 'injury.'
If so, how much
fitness
will I lose? I'll still do yoga and upper-body weights - my other two exercise staples adopted during lockdowns 1, 2 and 3. But I really hope my new-found
fitness
doesn't suffer too much.

Some Philosophical Musings
And in another total about face, the pools are now open and I can at least swim again to try and maintain some level of
fitness
. A year ago running saved me when I couldnβt swim. πββββπββββ And now swimming is my saviour when Iβm unable to run. πββββπββββ What a mad year it has been!

Better run π- anyone else having trouble syncing to Strava?
No PR but 43 mins for a 5k run isnβt too bad when you are not back up to usually
fitness
yet. Saw loads of other runners who looked as though they were enjoying it much more than me. Also one other guy who went past me leaning over to one side and wheezing like hell.

Iβve lost my mojo π’
I then decided to go back to week 6 as I didnβt know how much
fitness
I had lost; I was really pleased as I managed to do 10 mins, walk 3 & then another 10 min run. That was 3 weeks ago.

My wife says that I have a lot of ASTHMA TOYS
I have watch {Not an apple one} which my specialist approves to use for an estimated pulse rate, and oxygen level, and
fitness
and downloadable to my computer. A good quality oximeter {Which I have been trained to use} once again downloadable to my computer Mobile Phone}.

Week 5 β .......and having to take less pain killers....Win/winπ€©
Being able to spend time out in the great outdoors and improving my physical
fitness
has really made a difference to my mental health as well. This is a photo I took whilst out today.....cold, but really beautiful scenery. Have a great week everyone, stay safe and enjoy the running/jogging.

Started the NHS 12 Week Fitness plan today
Just started the NHS 12 Week
Fitness
Plan and just done my first Strength and Flex if was ok and I felt that I had a workout though I felt this was best done outdoors as I don't have anything like metal railings shoulder height indoors.

Back on Track - Hopefully
After three weeks , I had no idea on the level of
fitness
or my lung capacity. To test my capacity I ran w1r1, w3r1 and w5r1. It wasn't all that easy but was still doable. Last week I have completed run 1 & 2 of week 6 . My Run 3 of week 6 is due today. I am not confident but give it a shot.

Time to go again...
My general
fitness
and more importantly my mental
fitness
has suffered as a result. I'll be sorting some suitable winter running clobber today and getting back on the programme. We have some undoubtedly hard times ahead of us still and as runnimg got me through last time I hope it will again!
