Week 5 ✅.......and having to take less pain killers....Win/win🤩

Like so many who have shared their stories regarding their ‘journey’, I too was very sceptical about being able to run (ok....it was probably more of slow jog as recommended by you lovely people of course!) the full 20 minutes! However, with Jo’s encouragement and all the top tips I had read on this forum.....I did it! By the time arrived home, I was like the ‘cat who got the cream’😁!

Since the bike accident, I have been taking pain killers on a regular basis. One of my goals this year is to reduce the number of drugs I have become dependent on to alleviate the pain and I can honestly say that since I have started this programme 5 weeks ago, I have already managed to reduce my intake.

Being able to spend time out in the great outdoors and improving my physical fitness has really made a difference to my mental health as well. This is a photo I took whilst out today.....cold, but really beautiful scenery.

Have a great week everyone, stay safe and enjoy the running/jogging.

The buzz you get from running is the best painkiller going!- well done you - great scenery and the sense of achievement will keep you going - injury free- if you continue slowly. Great that you've reduced the pain meds - all good stuff, especially as Spring is on its way. Happy journey!
