It's my IT band!
I was worried the doctor would tell me to stop running but instead he was very complimentary about my
fitness
and flexibility. Maybe that was to apologise for the pain he inflicted probing the offending tendon!

A great video on the effects of 10 years MAF training
But what better way of regaining my
fitness
. I use a Polar hr chest strap on my runs as I find it has more stability than my Garmin . I used them many years ago when I gave up smoking (26 years ago) and have now bought a newer polar strap.

You are not, over a few weeks out going to be losing the
fitness
you’ve built up. Your body wont lose it all, although some sports may require a gentle and steady build back, if you are away for longer than two or three weeks!

Our Setbacks simply prepare us for our next Comeback...
We want to keep the
fitness
and we want to feel like running again. So... how can we achieve that. The first thing we need to do is... WAIT. What !!!! Yes, I said, WAIT. You need to wait until you are fully better before you run again.

Hello friends, I’m new here ☺️
That was back in 2011, and while I’ve had my ups and downs of taking control of my life and put more important on what I was eating and honestly
fitness
is super fun to me now that I’m even in a group that goes weekly.

Further evidence that even moderate exercise is good for your long term health - particularly when you have CLL!

A new stage of recovery
I haven't lost all that
fitness
, but at the same time I don't want to do too much. With the need to add some structure, I am wondering about re-doing a chunk of C25K, but freshening it up with a new mentor. Although I am capable of more and am tempted to do week 3 or even 4, I know it's risky.

Toe nail injury
I know realistically I’ll lose some
fitness
but am trying to tell myself these things happen and I’ve not signed up for any races or anything like that so just take things as they go. Thank you in advance!

Growing Old Disgracefully but Sensibly!
I have been operating on the basis that my three runs per week, gradually extending distance, are enough to maintain the
fitness
levels I need. That has been true up to now, but maybe Monday was a helpful early warning that things need to change.

Sudden drop in heart rate?
Personally I feel that these wrist worn gadgets are very useful for general
fitness
, but they can cause a huge amount of unnecessary anxiety due to their limitations. I certainly have learnt a valuable lesson. I hope this helps other people also.

My

age is 57.5 ( I’m actually 62) 2. My vo2 max is 34 which is apparently excellent for women of my age (what it needs to be to get into the purple”superior” zone I don’t know!) 3.

I only had 8 weeks' clean training going into the event, so was at the very low end of my
fitness
and, more importantly, strength. Quads normally act as brakes. No quads equals no brakes; no brakes equals no control.

Ooh, my
fitness
must be increasing!! That nice Mr Garmin has knocked 16 years off my age and my VO2 is now in the blue 'excellent' zone :) (part of my decision to run slow was to improve this. So yes, I am back.

Exercise after heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation
She is behind “Healthy Hearties” and a trained cardiac nurse as well as
fitness
teacher so I knew I’d be in good hands doing online zoom classes with her guidance as well as benefitting from her guidance and support.

I’ve lost a little
fitness
but not too much. Fortunately I didn’t have a cough with Covid, so breathing wasn’t a problem although I did notice my heart rate was slightly elevated which was understandable. I was running with a new runner for some of the time and enjoying encouraging her.
