Rapid Iron Depletion
Hi everyone, I'm wondering what can cause iron to drop quickly after infusions...? Blood loss has been ruled out. I have P. A. , Celiac Disease and chronic iron deficiency. I was severely anemic for years and had over a dozen infusions stretched out over 13mos in 2016-17. Those only got my hemoglobin

I came across the recent papers of this Polish group which may make for interesting reading. I myself will have to wade in and assimilate their meaning. Hope you find something in these of interest. 1. Krysiak R, Szkróbka W, Okopień B.

Feel like I'm falling apart...advice/suggestions (please)
Hello, I was diagnosed with mild crohn's in Dec 2016. As of the last few months, I have been experience issues with my crohn's. I am currently on Entocourt(?) which seems to not be working any more. The last few weeks have been even worse with constant pain issues in my stomach, diarrhea, and oral thrush

Second consultant meeting this week - for cirrhosis....
Morning all, So despite being two months after the target date, my second post-hospital consultation is on Thursday and I’m getting into a flap (in a fear of stage fright way) about having everything I need on my list - most of us know how precious these appointments are and I really, really don’t want

ANYONE HEARD ABOUT THE NEW 2 HR. DBS?
ANYONE TRIED THE NEW 2 HR. ASLEEP DBS BY DR. DAVID VANSICKLE?HE HAS BEEN PERFORMING THIS SURGERY FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS IN LITTLETON, COLORADO. IT SOUNDS BETTER THAN THE AWAKE DBS AS FAR AS ACCURACY AND TYPICAL 4-6 HR SURGERY TIME. HE USES THE ABBOTT SYSTEM THAT HAS 8 ELECTRODES INSTEAD OF 4. I LIVE

Gluten free advice please
Hi everyone. I have Hashimoto's, so about 3 weeks ago I started on a gluten free diet (I've been tested and I'm not coeliac). All was going well until yesterday. Due to all the Christmas advertising, I had a yearning for some chocolate. On a couple of websites it was said that Cadbury's Giant Chocolate

Nervous but eager for tests next week
Hi all. I saw a gastroenterologist a while back and he wants to do endoscopy/colonoscopy which I'm scheduled to have next week. He said he's initially thinking of coeliac so I'm guessing endoscopy/biopsy would prove if he's right? When I thought about it afterwards I did find it a bit strange that he

DBS for Non-Tremor PD?
Has anyone here with non-tremor dominant PD undergone Deep Brain Stimulation? Did it help w/ balance? Couple of weeks ago, my neurologist suggested DBS to ease the dystonia in my arm and help my balance. This stunned me b/c I had thought that while DBS was good for reducing tremors and dyskinesia

Could T3 be my last hope of being well, even if blood levels are 'normal'?
Hi everyone, I’m 52. I’ve been taking thyroxine for 20 years after being diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroidism. I also discovered I'd gone through an early menopause at the same time. I’ve never been well the whole time since then. I have all the classic chronic hypo symptoms: fatigue, muscle aches
