So bloated I can dress normal

bloatedallthetime profile image

For the past year or so I've become bloated 24 hours a day. So much that trying to button pants or wear belts cause great pain. I have a constant, dull pain all the time.

If I even rest my hands or arms on my stomach it becomes very uncomfortable. I've had my gall bladder removed to no avail. I was scoped three times in the last year and everything was normal. My blood work is good. I do not have gas or reflux any more than I did before all this started. I've tried lactose and gluten free diets. I'm pretty miserable and I'm getting no help from doctors.

Can anyone help me?

I found cutting out green leafy veg helped with the bloating. I keep a food diary so I can spot any triggers. I am also on the low fodmap diet which isn't really helpful for me but I know a lot of people benefit from it. Could you be referred to a dietician?

I have not been to a dietician but I guess that's my next move. I really appreciate your feedback

Think you need to start with the basics. Begin with a food diary and monitor your reactions to see if you can pinpoint triggers. Certain foods are really bad for sensitive guts. As Auntyjean says cut out green leafy veg like broccoli. Kale, sprouts, also cauliflower.

Try changing your diet very gradually, to see if there is an improvement. For example, I get very bloated with certain grains like jumbo oats, and certain types of bread. What are you eating at breakfast? Bloating is caused by a build up of gas, try Colpermin provided you can take peppermint oil. It is patience and trial and error unfortunately. You could be sensitive to wheat, gluten. Eat slowly, don't eat huge meals, eat sitting at a table and not slouched in front of the TV! Always wear loose clothing avoid tight jeans, belts, switch to braces. It is probably down to diet and lifestyle, so you need a full review!! Best of luck!

I used to b like this for years and years.

I found out it was bread! And to many carbs. I also started eating little and often so i never ate a big meal as it just bloats me.

Bread is so full of wheat gluten carbs and yeast it can clog the colon and it hard to digest.

As soon as i gave it up it all went and i lost two stone without even trying!

2 years later not touched any
