Pericarditis and cycling
I have been trying to get back to
cycling
and regain my fitness, social life and general confidence. I wear a heart rate monitor and have the results of my Vo2 max testing so know what my heart rate zones are.

We have just had a holiday in Mexico and are off
cycling
for 2 weeks in Germany at end August(all booked months ago). I am going to try Nordic walking as well. His movements are slower and more limited so
cycling
may well be tricky. So much of the below resonated with me.

Pilates and PMR
I also find
cycling
helps much more than walking which can be difficult. I wondered what others’ views were on exercise? As Pilates is about strengthening muscles, is it likely to make things worse?

Swim...or not?
Cycling
and running (for those who still can!) often mentioned. So I ask, what about swimming? I live 10 minutes from the beach and the same from an indoor pool, but i have never attempted "a dip" since i was diagnosed with AF (now persistent).

I desperately want to lose weight, so I'm cross training and
cycling
instead along with strengthening exercises in the gym. I've lost over a stone in 4 months but need to bring it down even more.

Has anyone tried Cognitive behavioral therapy to combat tiredness ?
He did not see my heart beat ranging from 42 minimum, 59 Average and maximum 142 (if I have been
cycling
) as unusual. I also eat well, being allergic to garlic ensures that I do not eat ready meals or often eat out at restaurants as it always a fight to exclude garlic.

W2R2 done - Get out of the way!
Not long after that I encountered two teenagers
cycling
. One had the good sense to go in the road, the other just had to go on the pavement, didn’t he? And of course, it was a particularly narrow part so I had to wait for him to pass. Should’ve pushed him off.

Traumatic Subarachnoid haemorrhage in 2013 - still being affected?
I find that when
cycling
(over 20 miles) or walking (3 or 4 miles) my right leg just stops working. I have to really concentrate on moving it and it feels like just a dead weight.

Not going to do that again!
The gym where I go to boot camps every week (that and static
cycling
classes is all they do - it’s not like a normal “gym”) has started a ‘running club’ session.

First Park Run
I’d gone from
cycling
mountains to stopping on staircase. The Park Run volunteers were great a fantastic event and nothing to fear!!!

Just got stopped by new local gym staff
Proudly told them that I could see no point in paying to join their gym when I can enjoy running and
cycling
in our lively countryside for free 😂

New Here. My YOPD story.
Throughout the week I do Tai Chi, Yoga, Boxing,
Cycling
, and strength training. I also regularly stretch. My goals are to keep my medication dose at a minimum and to re-learn how to walk. Since I have been diagnosed, I have been very open with my family and people at work about my health.

Feeling fitter 😆
I just cycled 31.4 KM -
cycling
some how seems easier - there is a breeze but although you clearly work your legs I don't get out of breath like I do when running and my heart rate doesn't go up even though we went fast! My partner was knackered (and he goes to the gym!) but I was ok!

Not a rib-tickler...
Part of our holiday plans were to do a bit of
cycling
round the narrow Dartmoor lanes - it was all going so well - until it wasn't. I'm not an experienced cyclist, but by anyone's standards the incident was embarassing to say the least.

Zopiclone and Thyroxine
I also competed in the Ride London Sportive on Sunday
cycling
to raise money for the charity MIND. Today I am really struggling but did not sleep well last night (hadn’t taken Zopiclone), so I’m wondering if I’ve just worn myself out or not converting well.
