Are you able to find any clubs which you might like to join? Alternatively, do you use FaceBook? The area where you live may have a FaceBook page where you can ask if anyone else fancies joining you. Of course there is a danger that you might end up with someone you don't get on with 
A friend of mine took up running with a club local to her, and she's totally addicted now!
I'm happier to exercise alone and listen to my music
