I've had a Pumonary Embolism and am looking for help and information
Prior to my op I was pretty fit (running/
cycling
/swimming etc) but I could not walk up a flight of stairs without being exhausted and completely breathless. On Thursday I had a CT scan and clots were found on my lung. It was confirmed that I had had a Pulmonary Embolism.

C25K changed my life
I could already swim and enjoy
cycling
, and once I could run too I had the full set. I did my first mini-triathlon (‘super-sprint’) in March, my first ‘sprint’ in June and I have more lined up. I’ve also done a few parkruns (around 1/month), a 7.5K and a 10K run.

Polution and COPD
The problem is we live in a very busy London Borough, and although the
cycling
is a good exercise, she does have to breathe whilst doing it !!! Are there any masks on the market which actually reduce the amount of poluting particulates we breathe in?

As this was stopping me getting back into my sport of
cycling
, I recently raised this again with my cardiologist and he has now implanted a loop recorder.

What, no running?
I am a bit puzzled ad to why running is not mentioned in this article as I thought it was good for bones and strength (More so than
cycling
, which gets a mention)

Consolidation Wilderness and Binary Problems
My knee surgeon suggested (nicely) that I took up swimming or
cycling
instead as (Quote) “I was not anatomically built for running” ..... I'm pretty sure that makes me deluded for continuing (an ode to Marvo69) but I will continue and be careful as long as I can.

Exercise advise? (single leg lymphoedema)
I'm getting on well,
cycling
or swimming or indoor rowing every day. I'm also lifting arm weights daily. However, I don't know where to find any guidance about what is or isn't ok to do with my leg and abdominal lymphoedema - eg am I ok to do sit-ups and ab crunches, or should I avoid them?

This is my first post and I need some advice please
It wears off after a while and feel fine when walking and
cycling
. I have no idea what it could be, grateful for any ideas. I've just started training for a 10k, 2 weeks in and it's not going well!

Post-AVR: As one door closes, another opens.
Happy to report that my strength and stamina is still improving, week on week, with regular
cycling
, walking and tennis. I've managed to remain relatively impervious to the heat last week, during walks and bike rides in the 35+ degree heat in the hills of Mallorca.

Headphones
I returned 2 because there was a faulty charging issue and the replacement had the same fault - sound quality and discomfort aside. 4 seem to be worse than 3 for the “underwater effect” and noise from the movement of me running and whistling when I’m
cycling
so I might go back to 2.

Parkrun #3 - Shorty in Shorts
The only thing I’d say is that they are no good for
cycling
in as they ride up as your legs go up and down. The best news is that I’ve persuaded my hubby to start C25K after we come back from holiday 😁

Keeping Cool in Summer Heat!
I actually have one put away with my
cycling
gear and must dig it out. Her post also includes this link: http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2010/07/how-to-sew-neck-cooler.html So those that sew may want to consider making a few.

I'm back from the IC - I think!
However, the last few weeks I have been doing exercises to strengthen my neck, knees and core plus a lot of walking, a bit of
cycling
(walking up the steepest hills to spare my knees!) and using my cross trainer and rowing machine.

Cycling
around in yellow oilskins and spinning for mackerel. The The's "Dogs of Lust" has given way to The Adverts "Gary Gilmore's Eyes". I'm in the zone now. Pattering along. Not pacey, but fast little feet. Not out of breath, but a bit sweaty. Feeling grand.
