The struggle is real.
I have insomnia and anxiety. I think my insomnia has to do with sleep apnea for which I have Cpap. The insomnia sets off my anxiety. I'm trying so hard not to worry about everything but it's hard when you don't sleep.

Hi I was wearing my fit bit and noticed my deep sleep has been affected. Since, being diagnosed I have monitored the use of cpap vs nasal breathing. I get more deep sleep with nasal breathing and there are health benefits of breathing in nitric oxide while you sleep. I use surgical tape to cover up

I am very new and, so far, everyone has been very kind. Anyone else have trouble sleeping?
Last night, I spent many hours not sleeping and ended up on the computer, as usual. I think I slept a total of two hours and have been exhausted all day.My brain doesn't want to shut down. I have a CPAP machine because my doctor says I have sleep apnea. I also have a sound machine and a fan going, but

A Lot Has Been Going On Since I Last Posted
I think it is about 10 months since I last posted here - and a lot has been happening! My previous posts were all connected with my quest to discover why I always feel so tired and unwell and especially why I wake up after just a few hours sleep feeling really unwell. Last November, I bought a Wellue

Preparing for transplant
My wife has stage 4 CKD. Nephrologist today reviewed blood work GFR over last 9 months - 22 on 1/27, 16 on 7/12, 19 on 9/28, 17 on10/17. I had optimistically attributed low GFR to dehydration. Dr says, OK, but trend is downward and you should get prepared for dialysis and transplant. Lots of sobbing

Confused
I am horrid at sharing my history and/or feelings whether it be here in writing or in person, so please bare with me. I was diagnosed with CLL in 2008 and by Oct 2009 my ALC had increased to 30 and my spleen was enlarged. My RBC was at 4.14 and my HG was at 12.7. My platelets were 130. A BMB showed

RLS? PLMD? Myoclonic Jerks? All of the above?
I am a 69 year old man in the United States. In 2016, I started experiencing leg spasms that would occur when I lie prone or leaned back in my recliner. I first noticed it during the day, but it would soon keep me from falling asleep and staying asleep. I mentioned it to a doctor I was visiting for

headaches #4
Back to tension headaches! I got to see my neurologist on Monday. He felt around, listened to what my other Drs had said, then said it’s definitely not migraines. He believes they are tension headaches due to spasms, not spasticity in my neck and shoulders. He told me to stop taking amitripaline,

homozygous, so I have the 2 copies for H63D. I’ve had a thought 💭
I’m homozygous/have the 2 copies for H63D. I’ve have higher ferritin levels over past 7/8 years ranges from circa 180 upto 380 at times. I found out as hubby bought me a Family history genetic test as a present and it included health DNA results. For years & prior to the genetic test & since, I have

CPAP machine waiting time
hi Any experience of how long the wait is to have a CPAP machine on NHS? I only have mild apnea as only stop breathing 14 times a night but I would welcome anything that may avoid this / improve my sleep. I had overnight sleep test and day nap test. It’s supposed to be for a trial basis - anyone

The end of the second week of HHD training
Wow, it is a lot. I will not sugar coat this experience at all. This week, at my Monday appointment I had a conversation with my Nurse. Couple of things needed to change. One was dialysis four times a week was too much. Next, I did not need more than 2 hours a day. AND.....I went home Thursday of week

Financial burden
Hi all, I need advice please. I’m the sole bread winner in my family. For some reasons k own to him alone, my husband does not work and has not been working for the past 7 years. He keeps saying he’s searching for a job but everyone I know searching for a job seems to get one except him and we live

Low blood oxygen at night despite using CPAP
Hi This is my first post on the group. I've been diagnosed with Upper Airways Resistance Syndrome and I've used a CPAP machine for 6 months now. I've used several different masks, but I seem to get the least disturbed sleep from a nasal pillow mask. The doctors believe the machine is working perfectly

CPAP machine
Hi all I have sleep apnoea, which means I have to wear a mask all night (pumping air in, to avoid constant 'wake ups' ), but unsure if this is causing more problems with the glaucoma, as waking up with tearful eyes. Does anyone else have this problem ~ is mask & straps making the situation worse ?

CPAP & Migraine- update
I just wanted to give an update. I though this would be a very easy process and it has not been. The main issue is I am waking up with pounding headaches often. I have never felt this type of headache so I know it is related to using the CPAP. They were going to have me try a front mask, but those have

Peritoneal dialysis and high blood pressure
I would really appreciate any feedback from those who are on or have been on PD. My 76 year old dad just started PD this past week. The nephro ordered 1 manual exchange nightly with purple bag (extraneal) but after starting this my dad’s BP has skyrocketed to over 190-210 systolic. His baseline BP before
