Hi
This is my first post on the group. I've been diagnosed with Upper Airways Resistance Syndrome and I've used a CPAP machine for 6 months now. I've used several different masks, but I seem to get the least disturbed sleep from a nasal pillow mask. The doctors believe the machine is working perfectly according to the machines data.
I don't get enough time with my consultant to really get into detail about what is the underlying issue with me and I'm still waiting for forever to get a Ear, Nose and Throat specialist appointment.
Though I'm less sleepy in the daytime, I still struggle to wake up and often feel tired, lethargic and sick during the day. I keep forgetting to look, but today I looked over my past blood oxygen levels as measured by my watch. The watch states that I still regularly have low blood oxygen levels during the night that are between 80 and 90 percent and occasionally even lower. This is all whilst I'm still wearing the mask - I usually have it on for the full nights sleep.
Does anyone here have any opinions on my situation and why my blood oxygen levels is still so low? Is the CPAP actually doing anything for me? Is it distracting doctors from a different issue?
With regards to the watch, I've no doubt it may not be perfectly accurate, but surely the trends can't be ignored? 🤷
Any thoughts will be super appreciated 🙏
Thanks, Chris
