Blessed with a 2nd Kidney Transplant
Hi everyone! I'm new here and wanted to share my story. When I was 3 years old, I had a kidney transplant and my mom was the donor. I had a perfectly healthy for over 33 years until the kidney failed about 3 years ago. I started dialysis in October 2016 and it was going very well. Through the last 3

I'm new. 1st post. Stage 5 and feeling it.. this is my 2nd rodeo but 30 years later
I've been stage 5 for about 6 months now but even though my nephrologist originally said I could get down to a 5 GFR before dialysis and possibly go another year or two, I really don't see that happening. Last check my numbers were GFR 13, BUN 45, Creatinine 4.7. My RBC and Hemoglobin were only slightly

Which type of PD if you are still working and travel for work?
I have a consult with the surgeon and the dialysis center this week. My neurologist recommends PD, but since I still work and travel for work, I was wondering if any of you had recommendations. It seems like getting dialyzed at night would work best just because I often have lunch meetings and meetings

Living on dialysis
Hi jayhawker its Mj 1965, its been a while.b4 I started dialysis I wanted to go on haemodialysis but I was advised by my nephrologist to go on PD dialysis because if I went on haemodialysis it would make me feel worse and I would feel drained all the time. You know what its the best decision I made.

The ups and downs of dialysis. Where do I start?
Well on Valentine's Day 2014 I was diagnosed with ESRD. Did peritoneal dialysis at home. Enjoyed the convenience, only had one infection and I'm not downplaying the infection, but it wasn't contracted via not following procedure on my part. I started with a machine and eventually went to hanging

My first good labs in 23 years on dialysis.
for 23 years i struggled with my labs. Always had low calcium, high phosphorous. A few months ago i started fasting. I eat between 2pm and 10pm. Since then i got my first lab test with all good numbers.

Severe fatigue and brain fog destroying my life
Hello friends, I have been dealing with these same issues for far too long! Little long, but here goes: Starting when I was 16, I woke up one day and noticed I was a little tired for some odd reason. I have been tired ever since that day. I am currently a 23 year old otherwise healthy male. Not

Sleep Apnea and Mental illness
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea last week. Losing any extra weight won't improve my situation since it is the way my tongue falls back and blocks the airway while I sleep. I was wondering if anyone in this group has seen an improvement with their mental illness ( depression /anxiety

Cpap pillow
Hi there. Just wondering if anybody has purchased a Putnams Advanced C Pap pillow. Looks to be just what I’m looking for and gets good reviews ( if they’re real). It’s very expensive and don’t want to waste my money on yet another unsuitable pillow. Any comments appreciated xx

So I had an appointment yesterday and was told Creatinine is now 5.3 and EGFR is 9. I wasn’t surprised when Dr said it time to prepare for dialysis. I will meet with surgeon in two days Monday and have peritoneal tube inserted the following day Tuesday. I would like to hear from group. Is this a

Question for those with multiple AF ablation experience
I had my ablation on December 3rd, ten years to the day of first being diagnosed with afib and tach. I had stopped taking my flecainide 3 days before the procedure and was in full blown afib when they put me under. They had me back on the flec before I left the hospital. I had been on flec for over
