hi
I have bronchiestasis and severe sleep apnea and I'm just wondering if anyone else suffers from both and have they felt any benefit with a cpap machine during the night
I've only just started the cpap therapy
Thanks

You may have missed this post yesterday, someone who's had good experience with cpap.healthunlocked.com/asthmalu...
Hi Homer! Snap 😊I have severe bronchiectasis but only negligible sleep apnoea. However I do have EDAC as you can see from my post yesterday (thanks peege ). It took me aaages to get used to the C-PAP, and I tried 4 different masks before I hit on one which fitted ok and could cope with my restlessness in bed 😂But it’s been so worth it, I wouldn’t be without it now!
One thing I’m obsessive about is washing it all - mask, frame, hose and humidifier- every day. I’m already colonised with two horrible bacteria, plus I have aspergillosis, so I have to be very careful.
If I can help at all, please let me know x
I'm on bipap ( which is pressure on inspiration + expiration too).I've been onit for about 8yrs for type2 respiratory failure.i definitely better using it.i do sometimes take it off if it's leaking in middle of night, but I regret it.See how u get on.there are plenty of masks to try. If it doesn't help, they may need to adjust settings x
I have been taken off Cpap in favour of the Apap
Basically the same as Cpap except it automatically adjust the flow of air to your lungs.
On my last assessment, I stopped breathing 27 times in 3 hours.
The only thing is, I sleep in my chair when I wake up for about an hour/ still unable to watch the end of films/// but I am a lot healthier looking.
I would have said better looking but, that machine has not been invented yet.. 🤣
Sorry can't help with that but hopefully you get replies
