My son will be turning 4 this January and that in and of itself is great news. Nothing is scarier than having just given birth and not knowing what the future of your precious new child will hold, like simply living. my son was born with PUV and severe reflux bilaterally. Of course there was renal

Just wanted to share a lovely moment
A few weeks after I started dialysis, a woman also started. She was dressed in drab brown clothes and needed help to walk. Once seated she would shake and tell anyone that listened, that she didn't want to be there. She just wanted to go home and die. Her family had insisted she at least tried dialysis

Question about dialysis
I’d like to know why you chose the type of dialysis that you did, Hemodialysis (Home or clinic) or peritoneal? Any insights would be appreciated.

GI issues post transplant
I am now 7 months post kidney transplant. I was fortunate to never be on dialysis and had a living donor. Things are going just fine with good lab work and I feel great. I am back doing most of what I did prior to transplant. Now the reason for my question is that the only thing I have had issues

The Truth about Home Hemodialysis
It has been the hardest month I have ever had in my life. I promised I would write an honest and complete description of the process. I started on October 16th. The first week, I wrote about already. Not too many issues. But in my head, I was so overwhelmed. I was not ready for dialysis mentally in

What is the required temperature at a Dialysis Center or Facility?
I am a Mom looking for answers. My daughter is on dialysis and our friend just passed away. I have been moved instead of just listening to find answers. Vic and my daughter complained about the facility feeling like a freezer and other patients as well. In the summer and winter. Now, almost every

Return to dialysis
My transplant is 29yrs old and showing signs of failing, as is my heart. As I’m 77 I don’t know if dialysis would be an option for me. Has anyone faced this situation, I really would like to know.

kt/v Question
Howdy, first post. 2 years in Dialysis, usually after the dialysis session its around kt/v is 1.5 - 1.7. Lately last few weeks it goes into the 4.0-4.3 range. It's Saturday so I can't call the doc. Does this mean I'm crashing or miraculously my kidneys are a tad better? I ask as I made some food

got my cpap machine!
hello I have mild sleep apnea or as the staff put it when picked up machine “oh it’s only mild” 😊 So last night was night two, it was set at level 10 and I don’t mind at all the air pressure and having something on my face / head plus the squishing up of my nose. It’s not comfortable but it’s tolerable

CPAP machine / mask - looking for tips / experiences
hello Have posted in sleep matters but hoping to get to a wider audience here as can be a bit quieter on there. No problem if moderators remove as not heart related. But sleep apnea if left untreated apparently can negatively impact cardiac health. My heart condition is already untreatable and prognosis

Cost of running oxygen concentrators, Cpap etc.
Everyone, If you are concerned about the cost of running your 02 concentrator or Cpap then you can ask your 02 delivery company to reimburse the electricity costs every month. Send the readings into the company every month to get the regular payment. Make sure you register with your energy supply

Switching to home hemodialysis
I have been on peritoneal dialysis using a cycler, which has been wonderful, for two years. Unfortunately my clearance has been falling over the last four months and treatment increase in the amount of dextrose has caused me to gain nearly 30 lb. My clinic has me scheduled to begin training for home

Phillips cpap lawsuit
There is a lawsuit against Phillip cpap manufacturers because some of the models of machines cause lung damage from the foam. If you used a cpap, and have any lung issues, the machine might have destroyed your lungs. Look it up.
