Terry Evans Discusses his Evolution as a CLL Patient and Advocate
It has been incredibly busy since I returned stateside at LAX late last Monday after leaving Nairobi on Sunday. Between the jet lag and catching up with work and upcoming activities for the CLL Society, I’m in desperate need of sleep! But I have some very good news. My lab tests done the morning after

Common lumps and bumps on and under the skin: what are they?
With a diagnosis of SLL/CLL comes a heightened awareness of any new lumps and bumps; is our CLL becoming aggressive, do we have Richter's Transformation, or is the latest bump due to something innocuous that everyone can experience? H. Peter Soyer, Professor of Dermatology and Katie Lee, Study coordinator

Adding additional chemo
I am being treated for CLL for the second time after being in remission for 9 years...which is a blessing. I am currently taking oral Imbruvica... My most recent bone marrow biopsy showed little change after 3 months. If there is still no change in November, my Oncologist will add either .bendamustine

Hi, I'm Babskatz - pensioner with various problems.. suffer with IBSD and anxiety. Also have angina if that's relevant Am gluten and dairy intolerant and have problems with IBS if I overdo the fat, so a bag of chips is a luxury that I can no longer happily eat. On medication for angina, take Colofac

Idelalisib & 17p deletion
Some advice needed! I was diagnosed 18months ago at the age of 50 with CLL plus 17p deletion and have been on Idelalisib since last October (CALIBRE trial) I have tolerated the Idelalisib very well and have seen all my symptoms vanish leaving me feeling 100% healthy and my blood counts next to normal

Green Tea / Turmeric - Does it reduce ALC?
I was diagnosed 5/2016 with CLL. Currently in Watch and Wait. I am looking for a recommendation on the amount of Green Tea and Turmeric people are using per day and if this has lead to a decrease in Absolute Lymphocyte Count. Thanks, Joe

The Risk & Reward of Green Tea
I just replied to kathypawpaw's post from a few days back on her doctor's concern about her liver and decided I'd post it separately here as well. By coincidence the other day I happened upon a published report from Consumer Reports ( http://www.consumerreports.org/vitamins-supplements/15-supplement-ingredients-to-always-avoid

Raised nearly £1000 for CLLSA!
Hey everyone - I haven't posted here before, so please excuse my intrusion. Actually I work at HU, leading the team that brings new partners on board like the CLLSA. The reason I am posting is because on Sunday I cycled 100 miles in the Ride100 London event and I did that to support this great organisation

YOU, are the medicine for your fatigue!
I can highly recommend this 9 minute video on Cancer Related Fatigue by Doc Mike Evans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTFPMYGe86s It explains why fatigue is both different and worse in cancer patients and provides some very useful tips that
you
can easily adapt to hopefully improve your quality

2+ years on Ibrutinib and a question
I was diagnosed with CLL 15 years ago at age 49. Four years later I developed a Richter's transformation (Hodgkins) that was successfully treated. My early experience with Ibrutinib was nothing short of miraculous. The palpable nodes in my neck and axillae shrank dramatically. As expected, my white count

Weekend Wit - Cooperisms part 2
Hope you all have a good weekend :) Part Two You see I'm against hunting, in fact I'm a hunt saboteur. I go out the night before and shoot the fox. The other day I sent my girlfriend a huge pile of snow. I rang her up, I said "Do you get my drift?". So I went down the local supermarket, I said "

Idelalisib given front-line for treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia causes frequent immune-mediated hepatotoxicity
Key Points Idelalisib as upfront therapy for CLL caused an early hepatotoxicity in a subset of primarily younger patients with IGHV-mutated disease. Multiple lines of evidence suggest that this adverse effect is immune mediated, perhaps through inhibition of regulatory T cells. Full PDF http://www.bloodjournal.org

Mammogram follow-up - false alarm due to CLL nodes?
I had a mammogram about three weeks ago and they have seen something untoward on it and I have been called back to the hospital for an appointment. Could this be CLL related? I am worried sick.
