Hello friends
Earlier in the summer a local Chronic Blood Cancer Support Group for people in Cardiff and surrounding areas was launched. The support group is being supported jointly by Leukaemia CARE and CLLSA
The next meeting is on Wednesday September 14th at Cardiff Central Library.
It has been very reassuring and exciting to see such good attendance at our first two meetings, with many making the commitment to travel some distance across south wales to share their experiences, spend a little time together and help with the start of the group. The overarching lesson we have gained is that already there is a great amount of combined experience, willingness and interest between us all in the group to shape and establish the group in a sustainable way as we move forward together.
Cardiff Central Library is right among the shops and cafes and also houses The Citizens Advice Bureau with closest parting next door at John Lewis. Cardiff central train station and bus services are a few hundred yards away. So plenty to do if you pop into town for the afternoon by train , bus or car.
Please come along to the meeting we would love to meet you, if you can join us please register an interest with Nickey at LEUKAEMIA CARE on 08088 010 444 or by email to care@leukaemiacare.org.uk you can request to be put on a mailing list for meeting reports, activities and updates if you are unable to join us.
It was lovely to meet with friends from here in the community at the first two meetings. Prof Chris Fegan attended the first meeting and will be working with us all as we develop the group together to shape it to serve our needs into the future.,
At this next meeting we will be joined by Professor Chris Pepper who will talk to us and share experiences of research developments at Cardiff University research center.
