My first post.
I was diagnosed with CLL a little over a year ago. And what a strange emotional ride it has been. The watch and wait, feeling tired when you do the things you normally had no trouble doing. But feeling blessed at the same time that it isn't worse. I have good support with my husband and son, but it's

Good Morning, It wasn't difficult to convince my Dr. to continue shots weekly instead of monthly when he witnessed my deteriorating condition. The tiredness would not go away and at times was fearful of driving if you recall in my last post. Along with a high homocysteine on previous lab he decided

Collected my prescription from the pharmacy ,the pharmacist asked if I'd taken it before and I said no ,so he said take it an hour before bed ,any signs of allergic reaction to stop it immediately and phone the GP ,,,,,other than that he will ring me after seven days to see how I'm getting on with it

10 ways tech is improving cancer research
A Techrepublic article has just highlighted some exciting technological developments, with the following probably more relevant to CLL than the other items, which are more relevant to solid tumours: 1. Microsoft Project Hanover: Maximizing research 2. NASA: Using space technology to find cancer markers

Newly Diagnosed CLL plus CTCL
I celebrated my 60th birthday last May by being diagnosed with CTCL (cutaneous T-cell lymphoma) and CLL (Stage 0, all genetic markers in my favor). Initially I had a surprising sense of relief, as I swim for exercise and was getting frustrated with my performance. A year an a half before my diagnosis

Hi folks Hope you're all well as can be expected. I've been to the respiratory clinic today. I haven't got my fev readings yet they will post a report out to me. However they said my lung age 76. I'm only 48. I've been prescribed formoterol fumarate and cetirizine, I'm already taking monteleukast and

FCR vs imbruvica first line
I was wondering what people's opinion was for FCR vs imbruvica first line for moderate risk (unmutated, +Zap70, normal FISH for me) patients. With my genetics, I should expect a average response ~5 years with FCR which is the recommended standard treatment per current guidelines. I feel

Ibrutinib / Imbruvica?
Hi all, I'm a CLL and ITP patient and have had many different treatments in the past number of years. Following a recent CT scan and an increase in the size of my lymph nodes, my consultant is proposing that I start the new drug Ibrutinib. My history of treatments hasn't always been successful and

Oh so tired
Probably just being over the top, but once again I am feeling very tired and unable to concentrate, has anyone ever thought they may have Myalgic Encephalomyelitis? (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) someone at work mentioned it to me the other day? How would you differentiate this from just anxiety and depression

3rd round egg collection done - the horse scale
So ladies, we had our third cycle of egg collection today - 4 eggs recovered. I thought I'd share my experience for anyone who hasn't been through this yet. My right ovary seems to be quite hard to reach which means they've needed to apply external pressure to ensure they could get to it a couple of
