Could anyone give me some advice please? I was put on Atorvastatin three months ago due to my cholesterol being 12.6, a month later a blood test revealed it had gone down to 6.8 & no further action to be taken. It’s suspected to be hereditary as my diet is extremely healthy and I’m not overweight. Is

Numbness in left hand fingers
Hi Can anyone give me some advise. My index finger and middle finger on my left hand have started to go numb, loss of sensation is maybe a better way of describing it. I do suffer from reynauds but this doesn't seem the same. It started about 2 weeks ago on the tip of my index finger and seems to be

Plant Sterols for managing cholesterol
Does anyone take Plant Sterols to help keep their cholesterol low? Do they affect your INR's ? Do they work? My last cholesterol reading was slightly over 5, and I left GP surgery with a prescription for Statins (Atorvastin). I have read the possible side effects (and the packet has remained untouched

In my position of waiting for a bypass due to a blockage plus other restrictions I’m wondering why I haven’t been prescribed statins?

CLL and worsening allergy but poor immunity
Came across a great article on the relationship between inflammation, allergies and a poor immunity in CLL. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3844117/ Every now and then I hear about people with CLL on the forums saying that they never really get properly sick. So for example a cold comes

Alternative to statins
I have just had a normal blood result 3 weeks after stopping statins as result of significant liver dysfunction. Liver function was normal before took atarvostatin - started on 80 mg & reduction to 20 mg showed continuing abnormality. GP now reluctant to put me back on statins & is looking for something

How to lower cholesterol.
Hi, I'm Christine 61 and have just found out I have high cholesterol and need to get it down with gentle exercise and healthy eating because I don't want to go on statins if I can sort it myself. There are certain foods that help to lower it but when I've looked it up it's such a mine field I don't

Statins and blood sugar
7 months into my cardiac journey and daily morning dose of blood pressure meds, clopidogrel Apixaban, lanzaprozol and atorvastatin (40ng) and for the last couple of weeks I have been waking in the early hours with what I can only describe as internal shakiness and then sweating. It passes quickly but

Best time to take Prednisolone to lessen Nausea
Im getting a lot of Nausea but taking Methotrexate as well as Prednisolone Omeprazole and Statins. Is there a better time to take the steroids rather than early mornings. On 15mg Prednisolone at present reducing gradually.
